What appeals to you most about an otome game?

What is it that appeals to you most about an otome game? It could be the characters, the soundtracks, among other things. What primarily attracts me is how the story unfolds. I'd like to know what appeals to you.

Art first, then story.

I am always interested in artist I already know, the same applies to scenario writers (though this one happens less often). If the art piques my interest, I'm honestly fine with any story lol

I think what attracts me the most is being able to be with the male lead I like. I can experience different life stories from another world in the game. It's like being able to treat otome games as a spiritual nourishment, which is also the reason why I have been playing otome games.

For me it is learn how the way to cherish and understand the character you like or choose. Every character has different personality, so we literally have to adjust and choose to give them the best answer. Otome game actually kinda teach me how to build a good relationship with people irl too. But we should not be a people pleasure, remember we give them the answer what makes them be best, not only just feels good.

For me, it's definitely the characters and their development! I'll admit that character designs are usually what catch my attention first, but what really keeps me invested is watching the characters slowly open up and reveal sides of themselves that you wouldn't expect at first.

Voice acting is also a HUGE factor for me! Sometimes the way a voice actor delivers a single line can make a scene ten times more emotional than it would've been otherwise.

Character design for sure! If I don't find at least 2 characters of the LI cast attractive, I will most likely not play it, doesn't matter how good the story is. Ive pushed myself to play terrible games (story wise) just bc I liked the character's design XD
