Were you ever surprised by a seiyuu voicing a specific character?

Hello! This question sounds very generic, but I was wondering if other people had experienced this before.

I was recently rewatching Blue Spring Ride (the anime) when I suddenly heard a familiar voice come out of the teacher's voice. I then double-checked the cast, and that teacher was indeed voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa! I had always remembered this man's voice from his roles as Saint-Germain in Code:Realize or even that Mizuhito dude in Butterfly's Poison. Who would've thought he was also part of the cast of an anime I watched many years ago?

TL;DR—Have you ever been surprised by a character being voiced by a specific seiyuu?

Yes. I was surprised to hear Ishikawa Kaito as Dante when I realized he also voices Tsumugi Aoba from enstars I mean I can hear it in Dante's character song but... Otherwise is like. I can hardly compute that it's the same person behind both characters...!

Sawa Manaka (Nakazawa Masatomo) voicing Futakuchi in Haikyuu... Like, HOW!?? Him, in sports anime at that too! lol

I had only ever heard him in R-18 otome/BL games or drama CDs. So, when Futakuchi spoke I instantly realized, "That is definitely Sawa Manaka's voice!"

Probably Umehara Yuichirou voicing the soft spoken, airheaded Paschalia from Radiant Tale. You're telling me daddy Haitham and big boy Benkei voiced that cutie?? As an Alhaitham main, its such a different side to his voice that i havent heard of... he sounds so soft and sweet as Paschalia

Murase Ayumu
I know he can do high, sweet voices, but HARUKA is on another level I thought he was voiced by a female seiyuu at first cause his voice sounded THAT feminine
Only found out it was Ayumu when Haruka showed up in a male outfit and then SWITCHED BACK TO HIS NORMAL VOICE

I still can't get over Gintoki (Sugita Tomokazu) voicing Keisuke in Togainu no Chi... The aftertaste of goofiness is impossible to erase.

Horie Shun doing Dorothy from Over Requiemz, i like to play games and trying to figure out the seiyuu and i was so shocked when i had to look up who was Dorothy because his voice sounded so familiar but at the same time i had never heard Horie talk that deep, i liked it a lot tho
Also Sugita Tomokazu as Ruka from tokimeki girls side, i had never heard Horie talk that deeply and i had never heard Sugita talk that softly

I'm still amazed that Claude from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Orlok from Piofiore share the same voice actor, Toyonaga Toshiyuki ! I think their personalities are so different that their voices sound completely different, too. It's honestly amazing how much his voice can change depending on the character!

I played the BL game 'Struggle Under Me' on recommendation, and I was surprised to hear Midorikawa Hikaru's voice... the acting was top-notch

I was genuinely surprised when I found out that Toma from Amnesia and Rengoku from Demon Slayer are both voiced by Satoshi Hino! Their personalities are SO different that my brain refused to believe they're voiced by the same person.

I was surprised to see that Yusuke Kobayashi (whom I mainly knew as the voice of Toono from Yarichin Bitch Club) also voiced Mitya from Genshin. I might have to pull for him now lol

I was once taken aback by voice actor Hanae Natsuki's acting. He is famous for his role as Tanjiro in Kimetsu, but Nagumo from Sakamoto Days and Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul etc seem to share a similar voice, yet they feel like completely different characters.

I was surprised to learn that Daisuke Hirakawa voices Justin in *Crimson Empire*, as it sounds completely different from his portrayal of Suguru Omi in *Hiiro no Kakera*.
