Thoughts on Otome Games MCs

I prefer it when the MC has a distinct and strong personality rather than those similar to Sympathy Kiss. I couldn't even finish that game because I had a lot of difficulty connecting with both the LIs and the protagonist herself, who literally had no dialogue, only descriptions of what she did or said. At least the MC from Mystic Messenger had some response options that allowed her to liven things up. MCs like Catarina Claes, Ichika, and the MC from Ikemen Sengoku are examples of MCs that I like the most.

I never self-insert, so I love MC with strong personality. My favorite MCs are Kisa (Jack Jeanne), Yuhiru (Over RequiemZ) and Shindo Ringo (Club suicide). To me, it's easier to immerse in story when MC have strong ideals/beliefs/goals of her own.

MC with well defined personalities ftw! Not a self inserter, so the MC having a established personality makes the whole thing a lot more engaging. Especially if the MC's is totally different from my own.

Self insert MC's are pretty fun when you look at how eveyone else intepreted the MC's personality from the tidbits of personality in the games. The varied fanarts that come from those are really neat :D

I like MCs with strong and distinctive personalities. I'm not very fond of MCs who always need others to solve problems when they run into difficulties. So I really like MCs who have their own fighting abilities, such as the MCs in Even if Tempest and Birushana Senki .

I prefer protagonists with strong personalities over those who are just kind and innocent. I think one-dimensional characters make a game's story feel stifling. I'd also like to see a romance featuring a protagonist with multifaceted charm.

I like female protagonists with distinct personalities. I dislike people who project their own experiences onto characters. I don't care much about the protagonist's personality or whether they have faces. I hope the protagonists have voice acting, because it better showcases their interactions with their partners.
