Welcome to the (unofficial) Otome Games & Artbooks' Save File Thread!

It's quite hard to find save files for otome and BL games. Even though I've been a visual novel reader for many years now, I can only count on one hand where you can maybe find the save files you want. None are in English, which would naturally make things much harder for non-Japanese reading fans.

So I was thinking... Why don't we create our own archive for them?

Here, you can make requests for a save file you need and uploaders can contribute (I recommend using TinyUpload.com, for reasons outlined below). I'll be checking and updating this thread regularly, so keep those uploads coming in!

Before we get into it, perhaps some guidelines are in order:


* SAVE FILE REQUESTING GUIDELINES *


1) The General Forum Rules and Requesting Rules apply here as well. Please take a look at them if you're unfamiliar.

2) Here is the recommended format a save file request should be in. Please feel free to use this blank template:

EXAMPLE REQUEST (I've used Ayakashi Gohan):

Title: Ayakashi Gohan (あやかしごはん) [English/Romaji title and then the Japanese title in brackets if applicable. Please specify here using "[R18+]" if it's an adult game.]
Platform: PC
Visual Novel Database (VNDb) link: https://vndb.org/v14759 [If the VN you're after doesn't have a VNDb link, the official website will be fine.]
Save file location: C:\Users\Client\Saved Games [If you do know where it is, please try and be as specific as possible. If you only vaguely remember, just mention something like "AppData" or "My Documents".]
Name of file(s) required: save000 [Same as above, if you do know what you're after, please try and be as detailed as you can. If there are multiple possibilities, just mention the files you think you need.]

3) Please do not request save files for a game already listed here unless links to the files are dead.

4) For potential uploaders, please try to upload 100% completed save data unless the requester specifies it doesn't have to be fully complete. All contributed data will be presumed to be 100% unless otherwise stated.

5) For uploaders again, please try and use file hosts that are reliable. I've been using TinyUpload.com for a while now as it's quick, easy, free, has no captures and its file limit is 50mb- which is more than enough for 99% of PC save file(s). Highly recommended.

6) Uploaders, if you found the save file on another website, please credit them accordingly!



* GENERAL SAVE FILE LOCATIONS *


Here are the most common locations. Of course, this is presuming you didn't customise your installation path:

NOTE: If you haven't launched the game at least once, the save data folder may not show up.

* WINDOWS USERS*

~ AppData folders. In my experience, save data is most commonly found in one of the three AppData folders (Local, LocalLow and Roaming). By default, the AppData folder is hidden. If you can't see it, go to Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Show Hidden Files and Folders to make it visible. The path to access AppData is C drive -> Users -> [Name of user]'s folder.

~ Directly in your C drive. This could be under C drive -> [Name of game]'s folder or C drive -> [Name of game brand]'s folder -> [Name of game]'s folder.

~ In the C drive's Program Files or Program Files (x86). C drive -> Program Files or Program Files (x86).

~ My Documents

~ My Saved Games

I think this is a great idea!

And thank you for the save files for the Jooubachi games as well! Unfortunately, when I downloaded the save files and put them in their correct folders, the 100% save is not taking effect in the game. Do I have to rename the save file name to something else?

Thank you! Everything's now marked as 100% so that worked. But I can't load any of the replays (to replay scenes for instance), it just goes to a black screen and then goes back to the main screen; and I have no idea why :O

Hmm... That's weird. I have no idea, too. I installed the games, tested the save data and everything worked fine for me.

It could be for a variety of reasons (I'm not expert, but here are some of my suggestions):

~ As stupid as this sounds, have you tried uninstalling (some of your installation could be corrupted. Make sure to delete any remaining data of it from the C drive, though I'm not sure how much this helps), reinstalling without changing the default installation path, running the game once and then copy-pasting only the contents of the .zip into the save data folder (however it is labelled) after running the game for the first time?

~ It may have something to do with any differences in how we installed the game. For Menou-hen in my case, the save data is in the same folder as the installation directory, labelled "savedata". For Kaguya-hen in my case, the save data is located in AppLocale -> Roaming in the "PURE WOOL" folder and is labelled as "女王蜂の王房 輝夜編".

Hmm... That's weird. I have no idea, too. I installed the games, tested the save data and everything worked fine for me.

It still won't work after trying those methods, it's so strange :O But it might just be something to do with my computer during my first installation that is somehow messing up all subsequent installations. It's okay though, I heard the writing in Jooubachi games wasn't good anyway (so much potential!), so thanks so much for your help regardless!

Sorry if I don't end up using them all after the time you kindly have taken to upload them!

Anyway, this goes for everyone and not just YUUKI:

If you want to upload entire folders, you can .zip, .rar or .7zip a file using a file compression programme (like WinZip, WinRAR or 7Zip. Personally, 7zip has been working the best for me).

Generally, entire folders aren't needed, since the bulk of them are save slot files- like "save001" or "save022". In other words, if you save your progress using the game's 2nd save slot, in most cases, the save file will show this as "save002" or "save2". Save slot files don't contain the 100% completion data. Typically, it's the system files that do. I've also noticed that the most recently modified file (listed as "Date Modified" when you're in the folder) that isn't a save slot one tends to be a good bet on which one contains the completion data.

The exception seems to be in some cases of "save000" or "save999" I have come across. If you're iffy, be sure to keep these just in case!

If you're really unsure and don't want to test each file, my advice would be to remove all the numbered save files (except for whatever contains "000" or "999"), keep any files leftover and then pack them into a .zip/.rar/.7zip file.

That way, us otome fans can just copy-paste those files into the save directory and 90% of the time, it should work! Also, since a single .zip/.rar/.7zip file is just one file, you can use TinyUpload and get things done faster.

Hey quick question on A'sRing games. Is there a reason why the file only unlocks cgs and not all the scenes as well? Is there another file I'm supposed to replace for those as well? They all follow the format of global.sav and krenvprf.kep.

I think scene unlocks are tied to individual saves and not actual global.sav. Can anybody with legit clears upload their entire save folder for either Onedari ShareMate or Orfleurs to test this out?
