Can I play sins of kaleido without playing even if tempest? Will I still understand the whole story? I got my hands on sins of kaleido recently.
I have tried to play even if tempest before but I couldn't get into it. Is it like that psychedelica series where they're related but ashen hawk can still be enjoyed without playing black butterfly?
Or are SoK and EiT not related at all?
I really don't want to play even if tempest now if I don't have to.

Sins of KALEIDO is a spin-off sequel to even if TEMPEST, but the story takes place a thousand years after the previous game, with a brand-new protagonist and a standalone storyline.

The developers have also stated clearly that whether or not you've played the previous game, this one is designed to be a complete, standalone experience. So you don't need to worry about not understanding the story if you haven't played the first one.

If you have played even if TEMPEST, you'll notice a few little Easter eggs in Sins of KALEIDO. Other than that, there's no impact at all.
