I've been playing Otomes for about 8 years now, and I've noticed that I like so many otomes and can't call any of them my "favourite". Sure, I love "Mr Love Queen's Choice", "Tears of Themis", "Light and Night", "Ikemen Revolution", "Ikemen Vampire", "Fate" visual novel series, "Ozomafia", "Stream Prison", "Lost Alice", and so on. I love them. I even reread them from time to time, but there is no one favourite otome for me. Maybe the only game I can call my true fav game would be "Honkai Star Rail", but that's not Otome. So, I'd like to hear other's favourites and see if I can get some gems I missed on the way.

I can't choose just one; I can pick a favorite from each genre. Within comedy, I really like the humor in Cupid Parasite. If it's slice-of-life, I really like Blackish House, and it kept me on the edge of my seat with every route. If I have to choose a mystery, I have two favorites: Collar x Malice and Over RequiemZ.

Oh, I wanted to play Collar X Malice too, but for some reason it doesn't work on the pc emulator. And no, I don't use vita or switch. So, never played that one.

If I had to pick a favorite, especially among my firsts, it's definitely Mystic Messenger. What sets it apart is how it completely shatters the fourth wall. While most otome games feel like reading a standard choose book, this one actually takes over your daily life, making you feel like you're part of a real story (T▽T)

I like so many, but... My top 5 would be... Definitely Hakuoki❤︎⚔︎, Collar X Malice❤⛓, Amnesia❤🂡, and... even if they aren´t technically otome, I also count Fire Emblem 3 Houses❤︎🜲 and Persona 3 Portable❤︎̸/̸̅̅ ̆̅ ̅̅ ̅̅ ̅̅ for their dating aspects and good stories. I think what makes me love an otome is the mystery, the angst, and the happy or bittersweet endings.

Ive honestly yet to find the "perfect" otome that is good in everything (MC, LIs, art, ost, story). Although one of the ones that stood out to me the most was Bustafellows, it doesnt have the flashiest art but it has really unique direction with how some scenes break apart from the usual VN style and almost looks like an anime, the backgrounds aren't static pictures, the MC is voiced and really likeable, oh and it has my stupid virgin loser Crow ❤️

My favorite is the Tokimeki Memorial GS series. What moves me the most is the sense of everyday life. The randomness of events and the fortune-telling play a big part in creating that daily-life atmosphere. Even though you're basically doing the same things every day, the luck and random events make each day feel like an ordinary day that could change at any moment. It's still the same daily routine, but it feels exciting. It gives me that everyday kind of romance.

I'm planning to learn Japanese to play this game—otherwise I won't be able to fully enjoy its story. I rarely play games with simulation raising elements, but hearing you talk about it makes it sound really fun, haha.

My favorite otome game is Angelique, published by Koei. It was also the first one I played, and I immediately became hooked. There are many male protagonists to choose from for romance, a nurturing system, and the freedom to arrange your daily schedule. Depending on your affection level or how far you've progressed in the romance, the in-game dialogues will increase or decrease. The music is pleasant, the script is carefully detailed, and you can either be devoted to one character or pursue multiple at once. There are endings with followers, friendship endings, a queen's single ending, a happy group ending, and more. In the second playthrough, additional story content or hidden characters are unlocked. Several sequels have been released, including remakes, each with changes, and the game has been ported to various gaming platforms. Overall, it feels great.

Although I really like all the titles in Koei's Neo Romance series,
虽然我真的很喜欢光荣公司新浪漫系列的所有作品,

if I had to recommend just one, I'd say give 断罪のマリア a try.
如果我只能推荐一个,我会说尝试一下《断罪のマria》。

It's packed with story content and really packs a punch…
