[PC] Request : English otome Amnesia: memories

Status
Not open for further replies.
The game didn't even get released yet in English on PC for Steam and you're already requesting it? *sigh* I feel sorry for these game developers sometimes...
There are people who have been requesting games long before its release or who didn't even bother checking the release date (or even worse, they didn't even consider the console compatibility), so I don't think it's that terrible someone requests a game that's supposed to be released today^^" But since it's a Steam game I'm wondering if it isn't difficult to crack it? I know we have Dandelion and some other Steam games here, but we didn't get them immediately either...

The reason why I said that was because I know people want to play it, but don't you think that Idea Factory and Aksys Games trying to localise a game in the West for our enjoyment is hard enough and people wanting a game for free right after releasing it is just selfish...? If you want more of these games, we need to support it. It's called give and take. I know I'm being a bit of a hypocrite myself by saying that because I also on the occasion download and request games from AS. It's because I'm broke and right now I can't spend a lot of money on Otome Games... I recently did buy a few games from Steam and supported the developers because I know I enjoyed these games and they were fun. That way, more games like that could be made and released. There might be other people like me out there who want to play these games but can't afford it, but then again, there are others who can buy it but couldn't be bothered to move their lazy behinds and buy their games to support these game developers. I mean, think about it - without money, this world doesn't go around because money brings food, shelter and clothes to you. Without money, these game developers wouldn't be able to make a Jap-Eng localisation to these games. They need your help to continue bringing these sort of things in more and more.

I can't wait to buy Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi on PS3! :D It's on sale! YIPEE!! I missed my baby Souji...T-T A-anyway, thanks Luinelle. I just wanted to let people know that because it's upsetting to see that we could let our greed get the best of us. :L I don't think I will request that many games as often as I use to. I feel bad and selfish for not supporting game developers who made really good games.

I understand your point, tgywal, and I completely agree with you when you say we should support the developers. Believe me when I say that I, too, am buying heaps of otome games straight from Japan because I want to see even better games in this genre. I won't call you a hypocrite for preaching about supporting the devs by buying their games while pirating game every now and then, because I also do it sometimes (hence, my nickname lol)(even though neither you nor I nor anyone else on this world NEEDS otome games to survive so the excuse of not having money to buy otome games is kind of flaky; but I disgress).
However, what did bother me a bit (and that was the reason why I replied to your post in the first place) is that you make it sound as if it's a big no-no to pirate localized games, but it's completely alright if it's Japanese. I mean, just last week someone made a request for the latest Hana Awase game a few days before its release, yet nobody seemed to be bothered by it. Now here we have someone who requests the English version of Amnesia on its release date and immediately they are being called out for it (I admit, "call out" is a rather harsh word, but I can't think of anything better at the moment, sorry).
I am sure you understand that without Japanese games we wouldn't have anything to localize either, thus I think it is unfair to give an localized game a different treatment than its original. It is this kind of double-standard that is often annoying me (just to be clear: it is not you who is annoying me, but the mentality the English-speaking part of the otome game fandom in general).
Once again, just like you two, I am all for supporting game developers by buying their games and for the most part I am agreeing with your attitude. Just this whole "buy-the-English-version-but-pirate-the-Japanese-one" business is irking me.

On another note: I thought the Hakuouki sale already ended yesterday...?

Honestly I just want it because I'm buying it on IOS (which for some BAFFLING reason it's not on the store yet wtf?!?) I usually buy my otome games there because I can play them on the bus without having a small screen (my eyesight sucks) yay for ipads.

(which for some BAFFLING reason it's not on the store yet wtf?!?)
A-are you being sarcastic? If not: They have never stated a released date for iOS/Android, it might be released in a few hours, or it might take another two weeks. Just wait for a little longer. :) After all, even the (US) PSN version has only been released a few hours ago, and the Steam version just became available (although there seem to be a huge bug which makes it impossible to play the game).

Uh no they said near end of august. It is the near end of august and considering it's the last tuesday of the month there's little to no reason for me not to expect it on the IOS store today or tomorrow. Them not giving a solid release date other than vaguely is pretty BS practice though not to mention the discount steam gets while vita doesn't.

If they expect me to pay twice as much AND get the game late I'm not paying for it. don't do that for triple A developers I wouldn't do it here.

I think you misunderstood me. Sorry about that. When you wrote "we don't NEED Otome games to survive," you're right about that (obviously, lol. I only play them when my lazy butt is actually bothered to move and play the game). The people who create them get food on their table from the games they created and we play. That's what I meant when I compared it to how money makes the world go round (Idc about money but we all know it's true and hard to deny the fact that statement is true ._.). I'm know that no-one made a complaint in the Hana Awase thread. Maybe because the person said that they supported the developer in the first two games but then the second one was bad to them so they didn't want to waste their money and requested the third one. Like I said before, I'm broke but I played games and if I saw that they were actually pretty good, I would support the game-makers. Know what I mean? They did support the developer, didn't they? I can tell that you're a bit upset from what I said before, and I apologise for that. The reason why I can't support game devs by buying their games is because I'm still in education and studying. Plus, I don't have a job right now. I didn't think it was a big no-no to pirate localised games because I am a hypocrite too...xD Just give it some time. A few years maybe? Like Dandelion and Nameless Otome games made by Cheritz was released a few years back first in Korean, then translated to English later. I know, I know Amnesia came out years ago but the English release is still kinda new and we should wait for the rates in the market to go high and then when that certain craze and hype for that one particular game dies down after a few years, you can do whatever the hell you want to the game; crack the game and share it with friends, throw the PC that has the game installed in it out the window (now I'm just fooling around too much). Plus, when games are released for the first time or have a beta version, they tend to be pretty buggy. Wait for a more stable version maybe and then patch/crack it? :l If we let the game have it sales, then we'll have more games of that particular genre. The more we give, the more we get. Jfc...I wasn't calling anyone out, really. I just though it was a little too early to do that. :/ It is hard making games and translating games. Try to think how it feels to be in the game devs' shoes. You work so hard on creating a masterpiece for others to enjoy and no-one appreciates it. What's the point then? Put your best effort in to something or someone and they take it for granted. It hurts, y'know? I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

P.S. I didn't know the sales over. I guess I was late. Ugh, whatever. I'll just buy the game. I found out about the sale just today. ;-; Thanks for telling me. One last thing, some game devs are just money-hungry bitches, to be blunt.

Pretty sure 29th August still counts as "near end of August", though. You are aware the iOS/Android release is not handled by Iffy itself but from a different company, are you? It's not up to Iffy when the iOS version is going to be released.
It's unfair the Steam release gets a discount when the Vita version doesn't, I agree, but eventually it will be on sale in the PSN store, too (and I'm sure there will be more sales period on Steam as well). People should be more grateful we're getting a Steam release at all when Amnesia originally never existed for PC.
Honestly, why are you so upset? You act as if you will die if you don't get the game within the next two hours. If you think their business practice is terrible, then so be it. It's not like you are forced to buy their game in any way. European PSN users get the game one day later, and I see noone complaining about it, either.

@tgywal: I-I'll type my reply asap, just gimme some time, please. ><'

If I am the one who misunderstood, I am the person who is supposed to apologize, not you. xD And maybe I haven't been clear about why I am being a bit upset either, so I too apologize for the misunderstanding.
I think I now know what you are trying to say. And yes, I too think it's rather disrespectful to request a game so soon, but personally, I think every request that is being made as soon as a game is released is wrong, be it a Japanese or an English game. The fact that one game is being localized and the other isn't shouldn't be an excuse to criticize only one side.
When I named the latest Hana Awase request as an example, it's only because it happened to be the most recent incident. But if you look at older threads, you will see a handful of similar request. In 9 out of 10 cases, noone cares about a request for a game which has just been released. Nobody said anything about the Hatoful Boyfriend HD upload either, and this game has been developed and translated by one single person.
This is just my assumption, but I think Iffy knew the risks of a Steam release, but they went with it nonetheless. They should have expected it to be eventually pirated (and this is most likely going to happen sooner than later). If they didn't want their games to be re-distributed they should have leave out the PC release and stick to the Vita release only. Yet here we are with both, a Vita and a Steam release. It wouldn't hurt us to show a little appreciation by not ripping their games (immediately), would it? (I am well aware that this is what you were just saying in your last post, and I'm only completely agreeing with you here. :))
If I have offended you in any way with my last posts, I apologize. I never meant to attack you. It is true I was (and probably still am) upset, however rest assured, my anger is not directed at you at all.

P.S. Don't worry, this wasn't the first time Hakuouki has been on sale and I bet it wasn't the last time either! The last sale only lasted for three or four days anyway, no wonder you missed it^^" If you are in no hurry to play it you could wait a few more months until the next sale comes around. :)
So true, some game developers are indeed only out for our money. lol

I agree with tgywal (although you may have sounded a bit rude there XD). The game barely released and people already are requesting for it. Other people might not have gotten annoyed at the Hana Awase thread, but I surely did, because it isn't a expensive game and the price didn't really 'increase', it's just 2 in 1, but that's another story and I won't call out the person in that thread, as much as annoyed I am.

Anyway, late august still means any day of late august, so you have until the last day of the month, just wait. You don't need to get so angry at them. If you want the game that much and waited all this time, it won't hurt to wait for some hours or until the end of August anyway. Also, it's not even a physical copy; many people who buy physical copies from other countries have to wait weeks, or even monthes, even after its release. Digital copy you'll receive it as soon as you finish the download, so just be patient. I don't think Hypocrite or anyone else wanted to sound rude, but you surely are :/

Edit: Nevermind I don't know why I'm bothering.

Anyway yes to the request <3

Sad the steam upload is still borked.

Well uh it released today and I don't have any e money for it and won't have it for more then a few weeks so. It'd be nice if someone could share.

I bought this game yesterday but could not download it. So i tried it this morning if the game works without steam or need a crack.

I didn´t need one :) so i can upload it this evening when i´m home. The Game has 2,88 GB, anyone know a good site where i can upload it?

Greetings

I'm really grateful to the people who share their games on AS, although is bad for developers, there are many people who enjoy Otome Games, who lives outside the US... I'm from Latin America and the game price plus the cost of shipping can be too expensive to afford.

So thanks to all who share their games, but still... we must be patient and respect games developers!

Of course i don´t have luck. I uploaded the game at a filehoster and after 2 hours it stuck at 49%. I led the PC run all night but nothing changed in the morning. So i uploaded it fast to wetranser this morning and postet the game in the Otome Games & Artbook Section (it may take a while bevor my post appears). Unfortunately my links are only stored for 7 days there but it keep me enough time to upload it this weekend to my filehoster.

However i didn´t want you to wait any longer. :D

Greetings Luinelle
