I'm a photoshop user. And I am currently creating an image background for creative purposes. And i was wondering: On the website's front page we can see 2 Squares ( sorta ) one blue, and the other pink. Both with anime girls on them.

Look Closely. See those little white stripes fading out in the red one? and those grey stripes also fading out on the blue one?

How did they do that? And was it done in Photoshop?

Thank You!

Photoshop, yes.

It's a pattern. To make it, use pencil tool and make this on a 3x3 canvas (zoomed 3200%):

pattern.jpg

then edit -> define pattern.

There you have the pattern, now apply it on a layer (edit -> fill) and erase parts you want with marquee tool. Add feathering with 15-25px radius to make the deletion smooth. Finally, alter the pattern colour using blending options -> colour overlay.
