Recommendations for comforting/relaxing otome games

My cat escaped two days ago; I don't know where he is, and I haven't been able to sleep properly. I'm worried sick because he has sporotrichosis and needs his prescribed medication daily—otherwise, his condition could worsen. Plus, since he ran off wearing an Elizabethan collar, he's moving around a bit disoriented, and I'm afraid he'll hurt himself due to the limited visibility the collar causes. I finished Juzo's route in Homura, but to be honest, I barely paid attention to the plot because I can't focus due how worried I am. The only part where I really focused on the story was the scene that felt like the Tifa vs. Scarlet fight from Final Fantasy VII. It was kinda funny. I don't feel like continuing with Homura right now, so I'm going to take a break; intense storylines just aren't working for me at the moment. I thought about playing Clannad, but since I heard ages ago that the story is sad, I think I'll avoid that one too. I basically lack the motivation to do anything; I can't even focus on tidying up the house or playing the other games I was previously into. Maybe it's because the games I've been playing are more action-packed and involve fighting, so I'm looking for something lighter and more relaxing. If anyone has recommendations for their favorite relaxing otome games, feel free to leave them in the comments. You could also mention a specific route that lifted your spirits or recommend a non-otome game with a calm vibe.

I hope you can find your cat soon or that he comes home when he gets hungry. I haven't had another cat since my last one died far away from my home. Now, I prefer to just feed the stray cats who keep coming to my house. I wonder if my cat talked about me to them? Damn, I keep buying cat food even though I don't have cats lol

About cozy/comforting games, honestly I wouldn't play otome games. I'll choose to play any farming or simulation game like Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or The Sims. The recent one is Dressmaker lol but if I had to pick an otome game with comforting vibes, it would probably be Ayakashi Gohan.

I truly hope your cat is found very soon. Please make sure to get some rest and take care of both your mind and body so you don't burn yourself out.
I haven't played it myself yet, but how about a game called "Little Witch in the Woods"? It has a really cute vibe, and I've actually been keeping it in my backlog to play whenever I get the chance.
This isn't a game, but if you're having trouble focusing right now, listening to ASMR videos on YouTube might help you relax. Personally, I find it really soothing to listen to ambient sounds, or spa and cafe roleplay ASMR.

Your kitty is up in heaven guiding various four-legged little angels for you to look after, haha. For me, it was the other way around: lots of stray cats used to come to my house, and after so many came and went, I decided to adopt some of my own. By the way, thank you. I also hope my cat comes back; I really miss him, and all I want is for him to return so I can take care of him. Thanks for the game suggestions, too. It's been a while since I played Harvest Moon-style games, so replaying that or trying Story of Seasons sounds like a good idea right now. I'd never heard of Story of Seasons before; I looked it up and it looks adorable. I'll give it a try.

Thank you so much; I really want him to come back as soon as possible. I want to get some proper rest, but I can't stop thinking about my cat—wondering how he's doing, if he's okay, if someone found him, if he's hungry, and thinking about the little injuries that illness left on him. I've tried to sleep, but it's no use. I've never tried ASMR before, but I'll give anything a shot if it might help me relax, even just a little bit. And thanks for the game suggestion; I looked it up, and it seems to have the same vibe as the games the person above suggested. I think that's the kind of games I need to play right now.

There's one thing that really stood out, sometimes a female cat delivers her babies in the corner of my terrace. I give them food and water, but after the babies learn to walk/can eat... the mom always guides them to leave.

Story of Seasons has the same developer as the original Harvest Moon, Marvelous split from Natsume. I think if you ask which one you should play right now, I'll recommend Story of Seasons. Marvelous remakes some of the Harvest Moon titles, plus... the cows are sooo cute lmao. The last one I played was Grand Bazaar. Harvest Moon right now is quite boring imo

I can really feel how much you're hurting from what you've shared.

You've probably already done everything you can think of, and I know that every area has different circumstances when it comes to lost cats, so I can't say for sure whether these things will apply to you. But I looked into what people in my area recommend when a cat goes missing.

I heard that cats often hide within about 50–200 meters of where they escaped, so it may help to search during the quiet early morning, evening, or nighttime hours. Try carrying a flashlight and searching while keeping yourself low to the ground. Apparently, some cats hide for two or three days and then start coming out around the third day because they get hungry.

If possible, you could also try leaving a door or window slightly open so your cat can get back inside. Someone also suggested leaving out a small amount of litter that has your cat's urine scent on it, so that the smell can help guide them home. I hope these suggestions might be useful to you.

If there's a website in your country similar to a Q&A or advice forum, it might be worth looking there as well. I imagine there are probably many people who have been through similar situations and can offer specific advice on finding a lost cat.

Also, since you're so worried and your body and brain are probably exhausted from being in a constant state of stress, it might be better to avoid games with a lot of intense visuals or stimulation for now. Try having a warm, caffeine-free drink and doing some gentle stretching. Take care of yourself and try not to push yourself too hard, so that you'll have the strength to be there when your cat finally comes home.

I'm rooting for you and really hoping your cat comes home safely soon.

I really appreciate the support and suggestions. He came back; my family let the neighbors know, and with the help of one of them, we managed to find him. I'm so relieved! He's in a cage right now because he has to be quarantined.

(Amnesia Memories Toma's bad ending for him)

I feel so bad seeing him in this state but it's better for him to be like this temporarily until he gets better, compared to being out on the street where I can't help him!

Thank you so much, I think I can rest better now that my neighbors found my cat and he's safe. Thanks for the drama CD suggestion; I'll check it out ^^

I'm so glad he came back! 😂 Thank you so much to your kind neighbor for helping you!!

He's such an elegant-looking brown kitty! 🥰 The outside world is scary, so for now, he's enjoying his "happy captivity" in his cage! 😂 But I hope he'll be able to roam freely around the house again soon!

And you've been through a lot too, so please make sure you eat properly and get plenty of rest. Take good care of yourself! 😊

I am so glad to hear that he came back, as an owner of 3 babies, I know how scary anything related to them it can be. If you're still looking for caming games, I will suggest Our Life, it is a cozy visual novel that is in general wholesome and Cove, the main LI, is such a sweetheart 😊

Thank god you found your cat! Glad everything turned out ok. As for game recs, you could give Love Limit a shot. The LI somehow manages to be both absurdly funny and heartwarmingly sweet at the same time!

So happy that your little fur baby is back hope he loves his bad ending. 🩷 In case you still need to relax, the Tokimeki Memorial series, Storm Lover series, or honeybee games (Seishun Hajimemashita, Starry Sky, Ayakashi Gohan, etc.) are pretty laidback! The first two have stat-raise elements but it's not difficult at all imo ^^

I'm glad your cat came back! I have an elderly dog and have to keep an eye on her often too; I know what it's like to worry about pets. If you're still looking for something relaxing, Glass Heart Princess might warm your heart.
