(Paralympic) Sprinter Shows off Body to Raise Funds

private_off.jpg

Hi all ヾ(・∀・`o)

Found an interesting article today...
(Just-turned 27 today!) Japanese paralympic sprinter Nakanishi Maya aka "The Blade Runner", who prestigiously finished fourth in the 200m sprint during Beijing's paralympics, has put up a calendar that shows her posing nude with her prosthetics, in an attempt to raise funds to be able to represent her home country Japan in the coming London Paralympic games. This has caused a whole lot of controversy in the media, many criticising the tasteless shots, and the affiliation of nudity with professional sports.

Nakanishi has had her right leg amputated when she was 21 at an accident involving a metal beam.

If you are interested, you can buy the calendar here.
You can visit Nakanishi's blog here, where she writes both in Japanese and in English.

So, what do you think about it? Inappropriate? A sad way to represent your country for the paralympics? A sad way to raise funds? Or perhaps you think it's a great calendar, or a breakthrough for amputees? I'm curious for your opinions. Also, the poll is anonymous.

I personally think it's a rather inappropriate, as she does represent her country especially in the professional sports scene. Though I do think she's a really cool and a gorgeous lady, to be honest. She's really not afraid to show herself with such confidence. I really do praise her for that.

In fact she says that she doesn't regret any of the images, she is happy that she could show off her body as it is.

As a side note, I hope Nakanishi has had a great birthday today, wish her best of luck to represent her country in London, and health.

I hate to say this, although I'm sure in a community like this it won't be a problem,
but please keep the comments appropriate, I will eat a hamster if I read any of that or silly Katawa Shoujo jokes from you (○・▽・○)

From a female's perspective, I would say, 'She's proud of her body. Needs the funds. So go right ahead. More power to her.'

Of course, if you think traditionally and nationally like representing Japan, it would be deemed pretty 'tasteless'.

Could be my upbringing and exposure to celebrity news, but I find her strong for doing this...

All the best to her and happy belated birthday~

If she do it coz she want to, I got no problem with it. As long it's not out of desperation. Even then, I wouldn't blame her.
But to think that athletes need fundraising to get them to sport event, that's sad. Not toward the athletes themselves, but to whoever that are supposed to get those athletes to represent their country in the sport events.
Who would that be? The Ministry of Sport?

Sorry to bother you again but the reupload for https://www.anime-sharing.com/threads/1463118/ is still missing part 3 from FreeDL and Dailyuploads links. The links for part 3 and 4 are also wrong, and are for parts 4 and 5 respectively.
