Very bizarre decision from the dev to change the code to be more exposed. I still keep the chapter 4 part1 version and I swear it was harder before. This could be a good sign for the future, unless this is a one-time mistake lol
 
Someone on a different forum leaked the direct Googledrive link to the newest version. I know those people also lurk this place (probably even reading this right now) because they have reposted links from here before. That drive account is owned by the game creator. If you're gonna leak things at least don't be a dumbass about it and don't straight up post the original link. With the way they do things no wonder the dev is pissy about Patreon verification.

You're worrying about the wrong thing. It doesn't matter what the link is. There's already a new post up on Patreon that basically complains about pirates. They're just pissed the game got cracked.

From their POV, pirating games means you lost your humanity (?!) and you've become the reason they can't pay their artists nor make new games. Because apparently the people here have so much influence we can make or break the economy! If the pirated version didn't exist at all, everyone would rush to buy their own copy for sure! Their financial problems would be solved right /s

Game crackers also only have one brain cell and are jobless according to them. The authentication code they implemented got defeated by one brain cell folks!

There are many types of devs, this person happens to be those "whine about pirates with every chance they get and blame pirates for all their life problems." Whatever helps them sleep at night.

Honestly, the dev is the equivalent of Old Man Yells at Cloud. Maybe blame the system that set up the circumstances that led people to pirate in the first place, instead of blaming them for all your life problems and throwing a tantrum.

Your pricing model, availability, lack of updates, and the broader economics where people are broke did. But sure, easier to point at some cracker with "one brain cell" than acknowledge that piracy has existed since software was invented and has never been solved by whining about it on Patreon. If anything, you get free exposure. People who pirate your game and like it become word-of-mouth. Some of them buy it later when they can afford it. Others were never going to be customers in the first place. Acting like every pirated copy is a lost sale, and you'll become broke, is insanely delusional. Not to mention how classist it is to say to get a job when most people can barely afford rent or food, let alone paying for your unfinished projects.

The cracked version exists because your DRM was breakable and leaks happen. You want better security? Pay for better security. You want people to stop pirating? Make your game worth the price and accessible to the audience instead of charging money for a game that will eventually be free anyway. Otherwise, you're just screaming into the void to your patrons, who I'm sure don't give a shit and just want you to work on the games they're paying early access for.
