Otome Recommendation megathread

I absolutely second Jack Jeanne, even if I'm god awful at the rythym game sections. I've been working through 9 R.I.P and its been fun so far!

I have a few steam visual novels backlog

  • Amnesia memories
  • Ozmafia
  • Taisho x Alice
  • World End Economica (not otome but this has been in my library the longest)

Since I have limited time, anyone can recommend which I should read first, or any interesting otome VN in steam?

Hello,^^ I'm looking for a dark fantasy otome game. My tastes are very broad, but I'm not into incest.

m just starting out and using a translation app, so I apologize if it sounds strange💦

Hello. Have you tried Virche? Also Over requiemz? I did not play the second game, but people say it is pretty dark. What games you also played? Which platforms (PC, Switch)?

Hello! i don't know if people recommended this game already and it's not an Otome per se, but i love "Our life: beginning and always". It's truly a heartwarming, soft game where you can choose your gender and customize your MC a little. it has three love interest and they are all cute... i enjoy playing it again and again. it's an Indie game and there's another game of the same title with different

Thank you for your reply ^^ I mostly play on the Switch. I have played a game called OVER REQUIEMZ, and it was a really good game that appealed to my tastes 🤤🤤 I haven't played Virche yet, so I'd like to try it out 🥹🙏🏻💕

Black Wolves Saga / 籠の中のアリシス / 断罪のマリア……?

Black Wolves Saga might be a better fit for what you're looking for, but some of the storylines in 籠の中のアリシス are pretty dark, too.

断罪のマリア has some rather bizarre depictions—it might be a good fit as well?

Yeah, I agree this game is so nice. I replayed it at least 6 times. Do you have otome games recommendations with atmosphere as heartwarming as "Our life"? I am craving fluff games

Looking for:
Otome games about villains/ isekai. I read a lot of shojo manga about villains but seems can't find otome about it except Thorn for the Villian.Any recommendations?
An indie game called 'your crown is mine' might be up ur lane

I don't know if it counts as an otome game, but there's a trendy 3D mobile game called Time Princess. I love that it has a selection of stories you can buy with tickets you get for completing story stages. If you also like trendy games, you should try it. The first story you start with is the Marie Antoinette book, but it's optional if you want to buy another book. The downside is the resource and energy consumption, but you make up for it by playing on weekends. I think my favorite stories are the adaptations and historical ones like The Magic Lamp and Romy and Julius (Romeo and Juliet with the roles reversed), and The Phantom of the Opera (My favorite)

Note: Sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language

Looking for: R18 otome game

I have play diabolik lovers and fashioning little miss lonesome
Unfortunately if you're looking into the English localized stuff, there's not a lot... The R18+ otomes that get localized tend to end up censored (see: The Crimson Flower that Divides + Chou no Doku). What is nice is that both of the works that I mentioned have R18+ translations on Tumblr (here and here). They're also both fairly steamy even despite the censorship, I'd say to the same extent of spice that diabolik lovers goes into. So you can play both of them adjacent with the translations!

Looking for otome games set in a modern-day world, something with slice-of-life vibes rather than extremely heavy drama or mystery.
I've played and enjoyed Jack Jeanne, Hoshikuzu Heliograph and Ayakashi Gohan!

Have you tried playing Him, the Smile & Bloom? It's quite cute and casual, and I really liked that there are 4 different heroines.

You could also try Dandelion, it has an interesting mechanic.

I think you'll like the Starry Sky series if modern day SoL is what you're looking for. They're mostly feel-good games with little to no drama(they also happen to share the same writer/director and artist as Hoshikuzu Heliograph and AyaGohan). honeybee games are great in the slice of life department.

Another pick you might like is Lover Pretend, it's a little k-drama centric though with more uhh drama lol. But it fits the modern day slice of life and isn't really plot heavy, mostly in the romance aspect. It's pretty low stakes overall.

I'd recommend Sympathy Kiss; it has really good vibes. If you want something more like a rom-com, Cupid Parasite and Love Pretend are great choices.

I'm looking for otome games with a heroine who is tsundere or initially cold, aloof, towards the LIs. I really enjoy that kind of dynamic, especially when it leads to funny, awkward, or interesting interactions between them! 🥹

I'm also a big fan of enemies to lovers, so I'd definitely love recommendations with that kind of dynamic too!

Variable Barricade, Cinderella Phenomenon, Norn9 (Mikoto) are probably the closest examples of what I'm looking for. ♡
