Otome Recommendation megathread

I only know La Corda d'Oro, UtaPri, and Jack Jeannie :( There's also Ensemble Stars, Hypnosis Mic, Twisted Wonderland, and Obey Me NB has music minigames like Muse Dash, but those last four I mentioned don't have specific routes and don't focus primarily on love interests or romance

Agree. La Corda d'Oro (classical music), UtaPri (Pop music and idol related), and Jack Jeannie (Drama).

Utapri even have music rhythm game to play. Quite fun while the character songs are already a nice piece.

As for story-wise, Honeybee has a series featuring different band played by the character, the game called DYNAMIC CHORD. (Although i have no interest to start them, I like rock, so to me it is so awkward if I see the story did not work for me)

Do you mean something like Ace Attorney/Danganronpa? If so, I can only recommend Tears of Themis. Collar x Malice and Even if Tempest also have detective elements, but the exploration and evidence gathering part is minimal and very easy

London Detective Mysteria might be similar to what you are looking for. There is some mystery cases you have to solve in the game.

There's Possession Magenta for the PS Vita, it's about investigating a kidnapping. Side Kicks from the same team that made Bustafellows is a mystery as well. Both those games are only available in Japanese though.

Seconding Gothic Murder and London Detective Mysteria as well!! I really liked the second game :)

I'd like to get into Japanese otome games. I really love a character who has been devotedly in love with the protagonist for a long time, so I'm looking for a game where a thoughtful character goes out of their way to take care of the protagonist with utmost devotion. I'm particularly drawn to relationships like childhood friends or long-standing crushes. I also like characters who seem kind and gentle from the protagonist's perspective but are cold or indifferent to others. I'm not too concerned about explicit content or dark themes, and I prefer games with long playtimes or multiple endings. I'd really appreciate it if you could recommend any games you've enjoyed playing!

Cupid Parasite Allan Melville
Olympia Soiree Akaza
9 R.i.P. Toka
Matsurika no Kei -kEi- Tenmeiin Iden/Kashokuden Fey
Mistionia's Hope: The Lost Delight John
OVER REQUIEMZ Dorothy
They're all the kind of characters you described, the ones who quietly give everything for the heroine. And actually, most the truth route male leads in Japanese otome games are the selfless, devoted type, It's just that these few are my personal favorites (。・ω・。)ノ♡

I didn't know any otome games, so I posted this hoping someone might recommend some—and I was so surprised to see a notification pop up right away that I rushed over here. You're truly an angel for recommending so many of your favorite characters all at once! There are so many otome games out there with such a wide variety of characters that I was at a loss about where to start, but thanks to you, I now have a whole list of titles I'm excited to try. I've bookmarked the titles you recommended and plan to play through them slowly, starting from the top. I'm going to enjoy them by not looking up the character names on purpose and checking them one by one as I clear each game. I'm so happy to have even more to look forward to. Thank you so much🥹💕

Hello! I've never actually played an otome game before, but I'm curious to try them out.
Looking for: Anything with an adult MC, preferably
Games I enjoyed: N/A
Things I don't like: School settings(not really a true dislike, just a little tired of it)

I recommend you to check Piofiore. 1920s Italy, a girl is kidnapped to be used as a hostage in negotiations with the church

Also check out Collar x Malice, Dandelion and Bustafellows. MCs are 21yrs old.

Looking for:
Otome games about villains/ isekai. I read a lot of shojo manga about villains but seems can't find otome about it except Thorn for the Villian.Any recommendations?
Hiii if you don't mind mobile games, i'd recommend ikemen villains. There's no isekai element in there but it checks the box for villains. Over requiemz does have isekai-ish themes tho and the localized version is coming out this August if you're interested!

I've mentioned this one several times, but HanaKare is one I highly recommend for beginners—no fantasy with outlandish powers or complex stories, just a relaxing slice of life (with a little touch of drama here and there, I admit XD) while you watch main pair you selected to fall in love and also learn about flowers. I also recommend Amnesia Memories, Otome Daoshi, and Radiant Tale

If I had to recommend a starter otome game, I'd definitely pick AMNESIA: Memories. It's available on so many platforms like PC, PSP, Vita, and Switch, and the playtime feels just right—not too long, not too short. Plus, the characters are just SO incredibly charming.

I've mentioned this a few times before, but Love Pretend is a great entry point; it's light and nothing too serious. If you're more interested (and patient), Charade Maniacs is also something I consider relatively easy to read. However, it has MANY characters, so it can be a bit overwhelming. And there are three characters whose routes you can only complete after finishing the previous ones as well.
