Otome or BL which is better

I love both genres, but bl became more familiar to me after some novels, it's not very popular, but it's called Beyond Eden, the steam has a translation into my language and I literally fell in love with this genre. But it is definitely impossible to say that it is better.

Back when I was a teenager, I was strictly into otome games. Eventually, I found my way into BL through dramas and novels, finally landing on BL games. In my experience, the overall quality of BL—especially the storytelling, character development, and writing—tends to be higher than in otome. However, I do find that BL often has a much gloomier atmosphere. Plus, so much of it is R18, which can be a real barrier for some people. I'd love to see more works that lean into the lighter side of the genre!

I choose Otome cause I like FeMC and her boyfriend ❤️

Before graduated , I played BL game, listen and read a lot of BL manga. (about 10 yrs ago)
But now I don't ship boy x boy in joseimuke and any media, Just read original BL manga.

(This is not related thread)
I'm fan of FeMC. And was played gasha game can choose MC
Fujoshi (shipper) make me don't like BL . Some fujoshi are misogyny , Hate and want to FeMC disappear
cause they want to boy x boy love each other HAHA 😂

It'd be interesting if we can see how many chose otome vs. BL.
BL is fine but I just love otome much x100 more.

Why not both :3 jk apart, in general I like BL more because the relationships are more "equal" (when seme/uke roles aren't stereotyped) and the main protagonist is always fleshed out instead of self-insert.
That's so true. The protagonists of BL games usually feel like a real person instead of a cardboard cutout. Also, your profile picture, Shingakkou, is actually my favourite BL game of all time! Michael is the most fleshed out protagonist I've ever seen.
