Otome CD: SE on or SE off?

I like SE on! It is true that sometimes the sound is weird but it wouldn't sound natural if there's no SE at all..

I almost always choose to play/listen with SE. Particularly so for drama CDs, because when it's audio-only, I can't rely on visuals to guide me through the story or set the mood like in games. So sound effects really play a big part in elevating the listening experience, creating/setting atmosphere, and helping me better understand shifts from scene to scene.

The sound effects have to be realistic/natural enough, though. Sometimes the SE in R18 scenes are so bad (I vaguely remember one doujin CD with "thrusting" sounds that just reminded me of a washing machine with a broken drum), or so obnoxiously loud (taking banging too literally, I guess), they break my immersion and make me want to laugh.

So yeah... it's usually SE On/With SE for me. Unless they're terrible, in which case I'd rather have no sound effects at all.

Def with the SE, it acts as a guide cause I can get lost in the story. The realistic ones are kinda scary, it's like I'm there but I guess that's the point! And the over the top one are funny and I don't mind getting distracted by the ridiculousness Of It All...

I am playing with SE on. I really like turning it on for the immersion.
I never thought about turning it off. Sometimes sound effects could be really strange or unnatural as it was said before. And I just find it funny, but it definitely could ruin the atmosphere or make it even better, depends on the situation.
But i really like when strange SE are added to the funny moments

I prefer on BUT there are exceptions. There have been works I've encountered where the SE is just awful and distracting, doesn't line up with what's supposed to be going on in the scene, etc... I can tolerate a bit of silly/weird sounds but not that. Lol.
