I'm not fluent in English so I use Google Translate.
Please forgive any small mistakes.

This thread contains sensitive topics related to menstruation.
Apologies to those who are uncomfortable with menstrual topics.

This is a thread for freely discussing otome and menstruation.
※You don't have to answer questions you don't want to answer.

[★Q1★ Do your preferences change during your menstrual cycle?]
Do you feel like your preferences for works of art change depending on your menstrual cycle?
I've noticed that I crave stimulating works before and after my period, but during my period, I seek calm and relaxing works.

[★Q2★ Which one is more effective for menstrual cramps?]
When you have severe menstrual cramps, which works do you find more effective for relieving the pain: works for all ages or works for adults? (No medical evidence; personal opinions are welcome)

I know there are individual differences, but I want to take everyone's opinions into consideration to alleviate the pain as much as possible.
I hope this can be helpful to other people who suffer from menstrual cramps besides myself.

I often spend the first day of my period sleeping because of severe menstrual cramps, so I'm looking for works with similar situations to listen to in order to alleviate the pain, but I can't seem to find any.

I've noticed that while care for menstrual cramps is a common issue in real life, it's surprisingly rare in otome.
Most relaxation audio focuses on stress, anxiety, and sleep.
(Perhaps because there are individual differences and it's a sensitive topic.)
This is such a sensitive topic, we can only talk about it here! Let's all share our secrets.

These are such interesting questions! When I first saw the topic name, I thought it would be questions regarding menstruation/period tracker in games.

Q1: Nope, my preferences don't change. Sort of similar to you, I feel so sick that I don't want to do anything at all. But when I do my dailies or do feel well enough to read or play games, I don't suddenly find another LI more appealing.

Q2: I just take painkillers. Given, my cramps aren't excruciatingly painful, so usually 2 extra strength acetaminophen every 4 or 6 hours is enough.

Thank you so much for answering my sensitive questions.
Thank you also for telling me about specific painkillers.
Your information will surely be helpful to someone!

In my case, on the first day of my period, I just take medicine, warm my stomach, and lie down.
I have severe menstrual cramps and nausea, so to distract myself from the pain, I enjoy watching otome.

The episodes about menstruation in the game are also interesting.
Everyone, please feel free to share any episodes related to menstruation in your works. We look forward to your comments.

In Love and Deepspace, you can unlock Secret Times (sort of like ASMR) by getting 4 star cards or raising affections. It changes depending on the LI, but they all have one where they take care of you and comfort your during your period! If you're interested, you can find them on Youtube.

Xavier: Tenderness (unlocks at affection lvl 70)
Zayne: Sanctuary (unlocks at affection lvl 70)
Rafayel: Treasure (unlocks at affection lvl 70)
Sylus: Exclusive Care (unlocks at affection lvl 55)
Caleb: Solace (unlocks at affection lvl 35)

The mc in this game has absolutely HORRIBLE period cramps. I feel so bad for her, and the LI are so gentle too. I think you would really like it!

Thank you for sharing such excellent information in such detail.
Your wisdom is a treasure to everyone here, including me.
I'll definitely check it out. Thank you, arson194835798❤️

I was looking for a story where a man worries about or cares for a woman during her period, but I couldn't find one, so I'm really happy you recommended this!

Thank you so much for this, I'd just gotten back from a night shift and was feeling really horrible, made my day.

Oooh, interesting topic!

‎Q1: Not really to be honest. I do feel quite sick every now and then during my period, but it doesn't really affect what stories I enjoy.

‎Q2: I don't play any adult otome HAHA or well. No explicit ones. Honestly anything that can distract me from the pain is welcome when I've got cramps.

‎The only otome I know for sure has specific period-comfort voicelines is Love and Deepspace/lysk/恋と深空. it has its own built-in period tracker too!

‎I suppose this is because for many people, menstruation is still unfortunately a taboo topic. I'd love to have more otome games touching upon the topic, though. . . if not in the main routes, then maybe as additional scenarios.

Light and Night has a period tracker as well. However, as you don't get rewards for levelling up affection, they don't have an ASMR/audio for comforting you during your period. But they will remind you, and have some little voicelines when you set a love interest/capture target on your home screen.

Q1: it does change, i usually like stories with more mystery and secrets but while on my period i search for only romance i get frustrated if the topic isn't something about MC loving the LI, it doesn't matter if it's angst, i want to read about love

Q2: this is really personal but i do find comfort in reading adult works haha, not just otome but manga too, as long as is a work made for women, it takes my focus out of all the pain.

I have struggled with immense pains all over my body while on my period since always, i have tried every single thing possible to deal with it, my answers to this questions are some things that i discovered work for me but the only thing that actually did wonders for my pain was getting into a treatment with oral contraceptive, this is just an advice but if your period is unbearable maybe you could look into that too

Thank you for answering my sensitive question.
Unfortunately, menstruation is still a taboo topic in my country as well.

There are many amateur audio works on YouTube that offer comfort during menstruation, but there aren't many that feature professional voice actors.
The one I know is "RJ01116874". But this is more exciting than nursing.

I was so happy to receive your comment.
Have a wonderful day!

It must be tough for you to feel unwell.
I truly hope that "Otome" will have a positive influence on you.
I've heard that in my country, warm cocoa or ginger honey is effective for menstrual cramps, so you might want to try it.

You are very knowledgeable.
And you also have the kindness to share that knowledge with others.
Thanks so much. Your wisdom is a treasure to everyone here, including me.

I was surprised to learn that there are smartphone games for women that include a "menstrual cycle tracker."
It's feature-rich and perfectly matches supply and demand.
It's a brilliant idea.

I listened to what you recommended yesterday.
It put me in a very good mood. Thank you so much.

Thank you for answering my sensitive question.
I was relieved to know I'm not the only one whose preferences change.
I completely agree with "it takes my focus out of all the pain".

It must be so difficult for you to be experiencing such severe pain throughout your body.
Thank you for sharing the results of your various attempts.
Your advice is very sound.

In my country, visiting a gynecologist for menstrual cramps or taking oral contraceptives are still relatively uncommon choices.
I'd like to get them, but I don't have the courage, so I haven't done it yet.

I've heard that in my country, warm cocoa or ginger honey is effective for menstrual cramps, so you might want to try it.
Another method to alleviate abdominal and lower back pain is to disposable heat pack to the abdomen and lower back.

Take care. I'm praying for your health.
I was really happy to receive your comment, thank you.
