I'm talking about LIs who are delusional, weird, perverts or unhinged, daydream a lot and have a gloomy/creepy vibe both in their looks and personality, like this girl from NIKKE.

If he's also the type of fanboy who loves reading self-insert romance fanfics about himself and the MC, even better. I'd genuinely LOVE to see that.

What do you think about this kind of love interest? Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to see more characters like this, not just in games but in drama CDs, anime, manga, etc.

I don't know much about that type, but maybe Gil from Cupid Parasite is closer to that type? you can correct me bc not sure

I have the impression that we don't get a lot of LIs like that, which is a shame. But in male-oriented media, I think there are a lot of girls like that (?) Maybe it's because I come across them frequently on twitter/x

I'd like to know if there are any LIs similar to them too!

... it reminds me of Utsuro from Jooubachi no Oubou: Kaguya-Hen (R18 otome game).

It's been a long time since I listened to the drama CD or played the game, but I vividly remember Utsuro being just like that. When he's silent, he's cool (if you only look at the game cover lol), but when his perverted side comes out, he's exactly like this:

Leviathan from Obey Me kinda fits the bill as well? We definitely need more of this type of LI.

I don't know why we have so many games with incest (even though they're not actually blood-related / are adopted siblings) and problematic age gaps (some of the female protagonists aren't even 16 yet), but somehow there are so few LIs who are pervert losers.

I guess making characters like that actually lovable is just too much work so they'd rather play it safe? Idk...

im more on the audio 18+ side and i see so much incest, r*pe, drugs, like i dont know if its writers being delusional or the majority of people are such a huge fan they wont try to do anything creative

That NIKKE girl is super cute. Honestly, I think a genderswapped design of her would work perfectly for an otome LOL

There is a plot... I guess? I forgot what it is about, though, because I focused on the 'snu snu' parts too much lol. I only remember enjoying Kaguya-hen more than Menou-hen.

If you like someone submissive and deeply devoted (add pervert too *cough*)... I think Utsuro fits that description perfectly. His drama CD was actually the first thing that got me to play the game lol.

This guy is a part of the 2nd half of the game. I played only the first half (Menou-hen) and found the writing so bad that I couldn't muster the courage to start the second part - Kaguya-hen. There is a plot but it's not well made in my opinion - at least in the Menou-hen. It's a shame because the art is crisp. But maybe the 2nd part isn't as bad as the 1st, there's a different protagonist and different LIs for each half. Maybe I should give it a chance too in the end.

It's been a long time since I played it, but I remember Menou-hen wasn't to my liking either. I wonder if it's because of the LIs or how Menou was written. Both Kaguya and her LIs is more my taste.

But I definitely wasn't into the plot back then, just playing it for the R18 and art! lol

I love a disgusting perv lmao I'm all for pathetic, delusional LIs! One of my favorite types of character is a creepy hikikomori, with a MC that is just a bit uncomfortable with them. I think it leads to an interesting dynamic, and some funny/pervy situations ;b

I believe this archetype is not so rare in BL works, but I sadly haven't seen much in shoujo/otoge :( we don't even have many hikikomori types. The closest one I can think of (besides DOL and Jooubachi no Oubou, mentioned above) is the DLSite game Ayafuya Hypnotica (though I didn't like it lmao and it's pretty short too ;b)
