Whenever there's a celebratory period coming up where I'm at, it's always loud fireworks from neighbors on the streets going on until past 11pm; I'm on the 2nd floor, so the sound reverberates. Need some advice. My house walls are cement, but the windows are cheap old horizontal sliding-type windows. What can I do that has a noticeable effect in preventing outside noise?

*not my actual window, just example, my window glass and frame is much thinner looking

Affordable shipping foam sheets effectively absorb sound waves, making them an excellent choice for soundproofing. To attach them to your windows, consider using 3M double-sided adhesive, and be sure to select an adhesive that can be easily removed later.

I remember trying some of these in college tho I gave up eventually...but against fireworks exploding at less than 50meters, how noticeable is it? I'll see about it tho
