Yes, really, just let your friend decide whether he want's a real girlfriend or want's to stay in the virtual world.

If he owns his own house and have a stable job, then he will find a girlfriend in the real world quite easily.

I guess its his choice, I think everything takes time including time. He is still young, and if he did not ask for your help then leave it like that. I know a 30-year-old guy that has 4 kids from 4 different woman, and I feel like his doing this because he doesn't even know the meaning of love. Never rush things up for other people, it is his choice to be single and maybe he is happy.
