Honestly, I never really thought about it. I usually just click decode and be done with it. It's rare to find someone genuinely interested in decoding it manually as a discipline. I know it involves translating each letter to its 6bit form, then join and segment them together into 8byte strings and lastly convert that into an ASCII representation.

You're better off asking chatGPT to give you the specific steps and also some exercise tasks to get started. If you have any pre-encoded strings, you can have chatGPT give you the answer and then compare it with your results.
