I'm curious as to what tools/programs are necessary to pull data from a game in order to tinker with the internal files. I know some of this varies from game engine to game engine, so for the sake of simplicity, let's say I'm going to focus on Eushully games. I have some that have very well done english translations, such as Kamidori, and some that are almost purely machine translated and are playable but not as well as they could be.
What I'd like to be able to do, since the majority of the patches seem to be .bin files, is extract the files that contain the text/conversation/item descriptions ect and be able to edit them. I don't expect to be releasing any translation patches, but it'd be nice to correct some of the more annoying wording issues I see here and there, and force myself to learn a little of the language along the way.
