LIs having romances with other characters

I don't have a strong opinion on this.
But I've noticed that I find it interesting when a character gets involved in some kind of fling if a romance hasn't started with him. This shows him from the side.
And I like it when a character is generally interested in being attractive to others and other girls take notice of him.
Looking back, I love stories where there's a certain unresolved sexual and romantic tension between the characters. But they only fully realize this after a third character enters the story and starts flirting with the other one

I would hate it if the character I'm currently romancing suddenly brings a thirdwheel BUT if the other LIs fall for eachother/fall for other characters I'm 100% okay with it. :3 I love to see characters paired up together its super fun for me!

Honestly I don't mind it, I've played some games with that dynamic and it didn't bother me, I'm not a self insert player so I don't get jealous, and it's kinda fun to see it happen considering most games I came across where it does happen the LI personality also changed a lot. And since I don't get jealous I also would love a game where you have polyamorous routes ugh, I love to explore that side as well

I don't mind characters dating each other as long as it isn't shoved in my face. I appreciate that it makes them feel more realistic—after all, if I'm not on their route, they should be free to date like real people do. However, just like in real life, I'm not deeply invested in other people's romantic lives. It puts me off when a game makes those background romances a central focus, or worse, forces you into a throuple without any buildup or explanation (looking at you, When the Night Comes).

I like the concept of other character romancing if you don't choose them cuz that means the story is moving even without you as the main character being the center of it, i kinda like
the one i can think of this mechanism in BL is tamayura where you can choose the LI you want then the game will make you also choose to which LI will be romantically involved with other LI, i like the mechanism playing that game
well but i think i won't like it if i have a favorite character/pairing, i can be quite possesive to characters i fav and if i see them romance other i might not like it haha

If there are romantic/sexual relationship/tension before with 2 characters, it really depends for me
if the romantic/sexual relationship/tension is not framed as more romantic then the one MC have with the character ( this remind me of Liu Jien and Ugajin from Omerta) then i don't mind, i might think of it as fanservice haha

if it framed as MC thirdwheeling first ? oh no, hell nah

Ewww definitely wholeheartedly without a doubt-ly NOT TOT
Imagine a character last route just declare their undying love "that gonna last an enternity oooh Juliet I've love ya across every lifetime" but in another route just pull a one eighty and chase another pair of ahh (Yes it happened to me in The Arcane pls dont play that game, ít cursed TTTTTT

Honestly, no. One of the things I enjoy most in otome games is feeling like the LI's romantic story revolves around the MC, so seeing them paired with someone else makes it harder for me to enjoy their route:akazukin_down:

It's fine if rivals are competing for the same person without being in a romantic relationship yet, but a love triangle where two people steal each other's partners makes it difficult to empathize with the protagonist in an otome game, and I don't think it's enjoyable.
