Levels of Yandere that you can accept

Since Yandere has become more popular I feel like the word is so misunderstood now. People only see the more extreme ones or use it for characters that not actually Yandere. I like the more repressed Yandere that don't actually seem like ones like Crius from Even if tempest, Jinshi. I don't think I can tolerate being in a cage though😂

:akazukin_easy:
I'm proud to say I can tolerate being in cage, all thanks to Toma! Well, stuck (confined?) at home is more preferable tho lmao more space to stretch your leg!

The one thing I can't tolerate probably... mind control? Euh, no mind control please, just keep up your yandere flirting until it half or fully succeeds (like Touji from Kankinkon).

i would like for yandere to be as extreme as possible<3
cutting me off from outside world? yes. drugging? hot! literally breaking my legs so that i could never escape? MOOOORE

i think the only thing that is a hard no for me is a tsun'yan. yantsun? who acts all possessive and jealous then turns around and starts fucking other girls to get your attention LMAO
i mean, ntr is a sensitive topic by itself, but when its not even tagged properly, it just spoils the whole fun;-;
HOWEVER if its the heroine who tries to make a yandere jealous (not by fucking other dudes though thats still a hard no unless directly specified in tags), im all for it. it creates a very hot tension imo>:3c

but i do think that modern yandere have been too "neutered". a yandere is a literal definition of ignoring your wishes and overstepping your boundaries, so when a yandere is like "id never ever ever hurt you my love", or just abandons his yandere tendencies after entering a relationship, i just. dont believe it. at all.
there are even people who categorize yandere as green/red/black flags, but isnt the definition of a yandere is already red flag by default?.. i dont believe that any obsessive dude is automatically yandere..(?)

The ones who go back to normal not long after and apologize XD I dont hate them but I'm also not that big a fan of the Yandere trope so my tolerance for them is bare minimum

I'll tolerate anything up to cannibalism if the character is compelling lmao he can cut limbs and I'll still be there

The main thing that draws me to yandere characters is how interesting they are. For me the worst thing a character can do is be boring or annoying ;b I do think nowadays many people use the label to talk about slightly jealous characters, which I dislike tbh... I mean, the archetype is about love sickness, not being possessive/jealous!! So I want to see him being sick about it, even if it includes extreme, uncomfortable examples. I'm all for proper labeling though, to avoid anyone getting surprised with upsetting themes in the games

i love yandere because they can be really extreme but i only like the ones that are like possessive and jealous but like others take the hit not the MC involved like he wants her/him to be happy and not flee or see them in a bad light but also keep them for themselves

part of the category of people who is okay with anything as long as the yandere lis are cute while doing it hehe ^^ to me the main enjoyment of the genre is seeing the lengths someone is willing to go to just for the attention of their favourite person !!! that emotional dependency and also need for control can be expressed through extreme means but also simple or more calculative ones which is why the genre is such a gem to me <3 it's just such good horror !!!

i agree with you on it being a very misunderstood term now since it's only ever associated with stalking or murder which is just? so very boring to me since there's so many layers to it and keeping it restrained to just that behaviour just feels like there's no depth. im also not fond of how purely sexual the trope has turned like yes that desire is definitely a part of it but i also find that for a character type so heavy i dont think any yandere would be satisfied with only a sexual relationship or at least one that is built only on that chemistry !!!

I'll pretty much take anything, even the extreme ones, as long they're something entertaining lol. Much of what I said is already said by others here, I guess I'll add in that I only enjoy them since they're fictional and they make really good horror of how extreme someone can be with their obsession.

Yeah, I agree that people are making it a misunderstood term, since it feels like they want an entirely problematic trope with it being problematic. Probably neuteured because there's people willing to harass creators for writing dark content and there's creators who want to use the trope as a selling point to a broad audience. I also can't stand it when people call a lightly possessive dude a yandere much like tiktokers do or when people complain about them when they've been tagged properly like bato commentors lmao

As long as it's understood to be fiction, I'm totally on board with anything, no matter how extreme!
I don't understand why people call characters yandere just because they're deeply attached.

Not fun of extreme yandere. Never play games with cannibalism. Or if yandere badly hurt/kill Mc. Also dislike being locked , but like Toma. So i prefer soft yanderes like Tei from Nameless, Micheal from Mushroom Oasis. Also Kuroyuki. So its like obsessive and clingy , stalking. But not too aggressive.

I'm not a fan of yanderes either.. although some well written yanderes can be so good. Some yandere just focus on extreme actions stalking, confinement and abuse, but don't build up on why or how much he likes MC. Or MC is not the only one he does that to and it just totally turns down the appeal for me.

The level of excitement I get probably depends on what they're actually doing, but overall I'm okay with pretty much anything. What I really like is seeing someone become emotionally unstable because they're so deeply in love. If the character is compelling and my type, then that's even better! I think both the quietly obsessive type and the extremely unhinged type each have their own appeal.

I can accept almost anything if an LI loses his mind out of deep love for the MC.
But I'm not a fan of LIs who are just unhinged or full of themselves.
By the way, I like Crius too!

Depends on my mood honestly! At times I'm pretty tolerant even with extreme yandere but there are times where I prefer "softer" yandere? (very important is how they are written too though!)

I'm not really into yanderes who actually hurt the protagonist — that just looks like it'd be painful. But if it's a double-suicide situation, I'm totally fine with it XD

What I do like are yanderes who act out of a desire to protect the protagonist from any harm, or who say things like "I love you too much — I can't stand any other guy getting near you." And then they end up confining the MC or controlling who she can interact with.

The kind of yandere who stays gentle and sweet on the surface while doing those things is pretty much my ideal type.

NTR yanderes annoy me ngl, like your tactic to make MC love you back is...getting with someone else?? Just use brainwashing and drugs like a real yandere lmao, it's sexier that way.

As long as the violence isn't graphic/gory (CGs of stuff like missing limbs/excessive blood), I'm fine with it. Like...Nameless Tei level of violence?? Cool, break some legs but no chainsaws please.

Love some classic forced confinement (cage, locked room, basement etc), stalking and non-con yandere content too.

I'm pretty easygoing, as long as it doesn't involve NTR. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I think creating a good 'yandere' character is harder when it comes to males than females. There are plenty of female characters out there, but male ones? You practically have to go on a hunt to find a good one.
