learning japanese from the very beginning

i hope its ok to post this here: i seriously want to learn japanese, but i dont know with which book/app i should start.

my priority one is understanding the spoken language and being able to read japanese,
my priority two would be to actually learn how to speak japanese.

which android-apps (ios only as a second choice) or books would you recommend?

Genki is one of the most used books for learning Japanese as a second language

I am extremely late to this party, but on the off chance that there's someone with the same question, I would like to recommend the book Japanese From Zero! by George Trombley and Yukari Takenaka. I believe that starting from Book 1 is excellent for beginners, as it's not overwhelming. I might be wrong, but I believe they might even have free resources (videos/website?) that you could use to learn Japanese. Give it a try, see if it suits your learning style.
