Itch.io otome games: pre-release demo or fully released game?

i prefer playing demos when the game already has a release date, to see if i'll enjoy it before the full version comes out

Since Sunny Day Jack, I no longer feel like playing demos. I don't want to fall in love with something that isn't guaranteed to be released. I think the demo should be released when most of the development is already complete.

Someone mentioned Sunny Day Jack! I got super interested when I randomly found it too. It's funny that the creator already finished The Groom of Gallagher Mansion, but hasn't touched Sunny Day Jack again, unfortunately. And there doesn't seem to be any plan to complete the game anytime soon. My list of games on Itch.io is full of demos and very few complete games. I've completely given up on ever seeing the finished versions of Broken Colors and Invite Me In.

OMG, I tried Invite Me too, and I was excited about the concept. Too bad it took so long. Even though I can understand the creators, I'm a little disappointed by the lack of commitment, especially when money is involved.
