Is there anyone who likes Choice of games?e.g:Wayhaven Chronicles

This 100% during the pandemic we had a influx of people writing which was great but as soon as work, college/uni became, or even life itself became a thing again, they all left their stories ongoing. Plus sadly another issue we have is people using it as a cash cow sadly. I still love the communities but I read stories of authors i know are working on it or have released a story before.
So sad there are so many untold stories.I noticed that too!

ShOH my beloved!! One of the few wips that always updates regularly, and the romance is delicious. The exes route with Red? Amazing. Top-tier yearning. I also think the switch to Twine was the move - the graphics are stunning.

The Keeper of the Sun and Moon series is pretty nice too. The first one isn't anything exceptional, the writing is a bit too bare-bones for me and it fell short in a few areas, but the second book is definitely an improvement, and it has some nice romance. The third - and last I think? - book is currently in the works, I haven't checked the demo in a while, but from what I remember it was pretty solid - it's nice seeing the author's growth.

Fair, I've also become really picky when it comes too wips - I'm not touching anything that has less than 4/5 chapters out and takes too long between updates. I've seen way too many stories not making it past prologue - if even that.
I played The Keeper of the Sun and Moon as well and I agree with you.If you have more recommendations I would love to try them! <3

The name sounds familiar actually I might have played it.Oh I didn't know. That game looks amazing! I looked at their blog and amazing world! The characters designs reminded me Fire Emblem Three Houses
Yup the author already published a book b4 and the experience clearly show! However, the progress is pretty slow as of rn so I'd recommend to just try the free demo and save the Patreon buid until the author complete Chapter 11 at least.
On that note, I think u'll also like Mind blind( its bout to be published soon i think. Demo long af), Golden rose, Bastard of Camelot (havent read this in a long time but writing is prtty neat), Throne of ashes (complete Ruben and Nour route), We Wretched Creatures, The Night Market (Book 1 complete), I the Forgotten One. And heavy emphasis on The mage reborn, the Sun king lives rent free in my head lmao, Great writing, lovely pacing.
So that's all off the top of my head. Happi reading! ^^

Aside from the ones that have already been mentioned, I would recommend Blood Moon and The Passenger. The author of Blood Moon has also been working on a sequel, which should be released soonish (I think she's finishing up the epilogues?), called Thicker Than.

Mind Blind is stuck in a weird limbo - author published a beta on patreon at the start of the year with almost the full game (I think it was missing some endings, or you couldn't see them due to some bug? I remember you always ended up in Gray's one) and then just... nothing? Even the short stories have stopped. I am not sure whether she submitted it or not, since we don't have an Hosted Games queue this year, so I have no clue on when we'll actually see that one published.
I second A Mage Reborn, though! Book 2 is almost done and I am buzzing with excitement at the prospect of the mage facing Leon again.

Wayhaven Chronicles (and text-based games in general) sounds interesting, but the game is not finished and isn't going to be finished any time soon, and because of that I'm hesitant to try. I've got a good share of "waiting for years to get nothing" in fanfiction, tho I'm going to check other games recomended here. Why can't authors just finish a game and only then publish it

Yessss omg twinnn. Leon literally changed my brain chemistry, him and Scien Broffise from that cursed game VIrche Evermore lmao. Now every time I come across a hero/king with sun motif or an arrogant talented bastard my wallet is out in halfa sec XDD
And as far as I'm aware, Mind Blind is well completed and is available on author's patreon. But I think I'm gonna save up 4 TMR tho ^^

Gotta milk that cow bbi :LOL::LOL:
But on a more serious note, I think they mostly write as a side job, and gotta milk that Patreon cash cow :)))) so I usually give a wip a year or so b4 going in. A while back I remember there's this awesome medical wip called Citadel written by an honest-to-god medical student but ever since their residency start the wip just never been updated again

I knoww, I was impatient and I subbed to her patreon when it came out, but even though it said it was complete, there were some issues with some endings. Plus I think she was supposed to have an open beta (since I believe it's mandatory to be published through HG) but it's been radio silence on that, too.

I get that - Wayhaven's supposed to be 7 books total and she's writing the 4th right now, so it's going to years and years before the whole project is completed - if it ever gets there.
If you don't want to wait too long between installments, there are a few standalone books and a few completed series that are worth checking out.

Yeah, I think it's a mix of that and the fact that there are a lot of authors who have amazing premises that are too ambitious for a first project, and they get burn out. It's a bit of a niche, there are few authors who earn enough through patreon to do this full time.
Though I have also seen people release an half-assed prologue, a list of Ros, and then milk patreons through small character snippets and never going forward with the actual story. Which is a bit ehhh, but props to them for making it work, I guess, lol.
Also, Citadel will be forever missed, my man Vic in particular.
