Is the first route important for your overall perception of the otome?

Superrr, if i dont like the first route i chose im probably not going to do the others. I lose motivation quite easily😓

Definitely! I'd say the first route can set the vibe of what may await me for the rest of the game, especially if there's a recommended route order due to how the narrative unfolds

Yes, because I want to play the first route that interests me, but if there's a recommended order in a guide, I'll follow that instead.

I'm sorry to any Benkei lover here but I learned my lesson from having his route as my first in Birushana. His route was really uninteresting and felt like a drag for me to do, now it's been a year and I haven't touched Birushana again. Now I always go for the li I'm most interested in as my first so I won't feel pushed out of interest from a game early again.

I have a bad habit of doing the route of the character I'm most interested in first, so after I'm finished i usually lose interest in the other routes

I feel like first route should be mystery and connect with another second route to make players more curious about the game. Instead of boring some lazy story, they should give have hints or suspicious characters that its back of your mind and bothering you. I think the first route should be like that.

Yes, it's important.
If there's a recommended order for playing the game, I follow it.
Sometimes I save the character I'm most interested in for last.

Not necessarily. It depends on what the issue with the route is - if I can tell I'm just not vibing with the LI, then I'll just drop that route and jump into another. If it's something with the writing, like the pacing or the voice, then yeah.

I'm the same, and I hate that for a lot of otome the story only really gets interesting/starts to make sense on the last route/towards the end of the game.
I played Amnesia Memories not too long ago and honestly the story is kind of uncompelling until you do Ukyo's route. But is it really a good game if you have to play it 5 times for it to get good?

Yes, I think the first route is pretty important to me. When I start a new otome game, everything is still new and unknown, so I feel like the first route is when I can enjoy the experience the most. There's something really exciting about discovering the characters and the world for the first time.

That's why I usually play my favorite character's route first. I want my first experience with the game to be as enjoyable as possible. If I don't enjoy the first route, I find that my motivation to continue with the rest of the game tends to drop.

Absolutely! It's the route that introduces me to the setting of the game and depending on how the writer utilizes the situation would I guess If I'll end up liking the story or not

I think it's really important. Basically, you can already tell the writer's style and skill from the first playthrough. And the first time I play, I'll choose the characters I'm most interested in
