I finally started playin the game!

So i'm on Chapter 4 now. I wanna taking it slow since my team bond isn't strong enough for to keep pushing the story.

Quite surprising that the game don't introduce everyone right away. At first i was interested in Lu Chen because... glasses bias, but turns out he isn't really my type. Qi Sili maybe cute for having a gap moe, but for some reason... i still can't bring myself to be interested in him.

Then somehow i ended up getting curious about Zha Lisu, and i have to wait till chap 7 i guess..

So, may i have a little question about the roulette banners.

I saw a rotation schedule, but it was based on the KR server. Since SEA follows TW instead, is that mean the rotation order differently? KR starts with Osborn then Evan → Sariel → Jesse and Charlie for the last, which would be perfect for me.

Also, people say you can save Polaris for the next roulette. Which Polaris is that? Since the game says "Episode 1," i assumed that polaris could only be used for Osborn's banner.

Because i checked the name not from my item bag, i mean from the store it says "Star" and then i just realised i had little screwed up for wasting my 10 polaris for changing them to ursa + 2 polaris for roulette.. yeah, classic clueless new account behaviour . Player just mistake to buy it and they just minus players polaris and then only gave compensation 14 Polaris which isn't even enough for a single 10-pull ;; (at least from what other players have been saying).

cant believe we fall into rookie mistake lol, there's so many things to do in this game compared to little resource this game provide, its frustating.

nope, you need 64 polaris to get guaranteed card, if you're lucky enough and get the 3 golden balls stopped at the same spot that is higlighted in the banner, you'll get the card early. no such luck for me tho

This ENG server isn't managed by Tencent. It's a company called VNG running it.

The other thing, there were people who truly bought it by mistake, but there were also a bunch of people who jumped on the bandwagon to exploit the bug. You probably weren't there when those players were literally boasting on X about how they found a bug and used it to buy the pack for dirt cheap.

They knew it was a bug, they chose to exploit it and even laughed it off when others warned them. They really thought a company, ANY company, would let them get away with it. Ffs they're playing an online game, did they not think about the consequences to their account?
They called those who warned them "jealous"... Jealous of what? Their stupidity? Not only were they exploiting a bug, they were bragging about it. On the internet. To the whole world.
Their posts got popular, hundreds of likes, thousands of views, then VNG caught on (I won't deny it this company is incompetent for being so slow)

Big banners won't use Polaris. You can technically exchange Polaris for the 10-pull ticket (the red one) and Ursa minor in the shop, but in general, it is not recommended. Because you can pull on big banners using Ursa minor - this currency can be farmed, you get them everyday.
But Polaris can't be farmed. They're the only currency usable in roulettes - and for buying clothes for the LIs later. If you have Polaris and you like a card on the roulette wheel, I think it's better to use Polaris for the roulette.

Oh WOW, thanks for the full context. Im not a whalers for otoge gacha, so i kinda ignore about this information. But yeah, spamming purchases on a bugged price item was honestly a pretty dumb move, lmao... I mean, it's a live service game... did they really think the devs were just going to let that slide? Have they never played another live service game before?

Especially with stuff like those. Live service games are usually very strict when it comes to exploits, cheating, or anything that gives players an unfair advantage. And the way they just complained about their act, thats. . . kinda shameless.

I'm not fluent in english, but there were already lines that felt off to me. I still remember seeing something text chat like, "I also" and "I also"... I also what?

What makes it more disappointing is that beta players had already pointed out a lot of these issues, yet the final release barely improved. They also toned down some of the violence compared to the original Chinese text, which changes the tone in certain scenes.

It's honestly a shame. And my thought for finally i kinda wish i could understand Chinese, because then i'd know what was the different in the original to translation and wondering how much got changed in translation.

Well, i saw some people said other translation like Thailand is actually just fine. But yeah, my only way for understanding the game is using english or japanese... So i guess for now just hope they can improve about this.

well.. its chinese company so i'm not suprised if they kinda greedy or predatory on players money. but its funny how they said play responsibly spend rationally when we get to the store, while they kinda agressively marketing for us to spend our money, i notice it since i first play the game and it kinda led me to spend my money too lol.

hope they add more resource in the future and increase the energy/apple cap. The aurora coins also feels limited for increasing card bonds lvl and imprint lvl. I ALWAYS run out of coins to upgrade Bonds when the story gets interesting lol

Had to go look through the pics I saved but here. It's the package called Main Story Gift Box.
It was a limited-time package, not sold in-game but only on their web shop. As you see, according to the name, it was sold only during the chapter 9+10 main story update, and the banner for Lu Chen and Zha Lisu's 6-star cards.

For price comparison, this is how it looked like when bugged.
It's not exactly $4 but like $4.09, still very cheap.

You know how cheap it was, and how it was too good to be true if you look at the items in the pack.
When bought, the system will send the pack items into the player's in-game mailbox like this.

That was 100 Polaris, 4 ten-pull tickets (a total of 40 pulls), 100 Loving Hearts (the highest level EXP bottles for leveling cards), and 4 boxes of Inspiration (the highest level boxes giving 100 stamina each)

It was a very valuable pack, 100 Polaris should be able to guarantee you through roughly 3 roulette wheel events (in one roulette, to guarantee 1 copy of the card, taking into account the free pulls, you'll need to spend 34 Polaris).
And the 40 pulls is a lot. No gacha game ever sells such a good pack at a low price. Obviously VNG wouldn't let them run away with it.

This is why you'll see some people's accounts being deep in the negatives. Like -100 Polaris or something, they're really in debt inside the game because they spent the items. They were warned, they just didn't listen. It's weird, you tell someone to not do something and their instinct is to just go ahead and do it...
At least VNG didn't take back the cards and levels the players gained from using those items, well, have fun with what they got I guess.

I agree the English translation is terrible though.
For example these sentences were so simple but VNG managed to screw them up...

There are several instances where they mess up the subjects or the sentence has wonky bad grammar. I've seen people guessing VNG might be using AI Gonna have to agree. But AI these days don't output broken English, so there are gossips flying around about how the company might have a human editor who fixes up the AI translation. This person probably isn't an English native, which is why the sentences are unnatural.

And yeah there was a scene where they avoided directly mentioning death, according to some players who've played the Chinese version. Then again I don't know what the original version wrote, so it's hard to gauge how accurate the translation is.

You're right, their Thai/Vietnamese translations are praised by the players. Do they not have anyone who can speak decent English over there jfc... I'd criticize their English VA choices too but this would turn into an essay at that point. I don't know why they bothered adding English voices, they were so bad. Either commit and do it well, or don't do it at all. Did anyone even ask for the Eng voices?

I bought one monthly and first battle pass, because genuinely this game's LIs and world-building got me hooked. However I might go f2p because where is the money going if they're giving us crap translation. The event schedule is very rushed too. We have 5 years of Chinese content ahead of us, they're clearly planning to speedrun the events

I'd love to join the Chinese server, but their gov is so hardcore with the identity verification stuff. Gotta have phone number and ID for the games in China. It's too troublesome.

I'm only so fast because I sped through the story. Well, I didn't skip dialogue but I liked it so much I played all of it. If it's any consolation, my deck isn't strong enough and I'm stuck in chapter 11.

Here's my deck and the recommended level for reference and I'm refusing to pull until the next banner so I can't raise my card's petals. I'm stuck leveling them with hearts and sand for now.
