I almost always prefer the MC to be the bottom It's actually something that can make me less interested in a BL if the MC is exclusively the top. I can't really explain why, but I just enjoy the dynamic more when the MC is the bottom and the LIs are the tops.
I like versatility in my games, so I prefer a switch. If I can't have switching, I'll go for bottom, then top. I mean, realistically, I just want all the sex.
Not sure if anyone here has mentioned it, but BLits has a game in development called Seven Nexus. At this point, I think there are 5 published chapters, with 2 more to come?
Anyway, there are two love interests - an angel and a devil - and depending on your dialogue choices for each chapter, not only do you end up with one or the other, but you also might end up as a top or a bottom. I think this game is kind of unique in that you get this versatility for every single h-scene.
That said, the devil is 100% a power bottom.

Another English-dev game that comes to mind is The Divine Speaker (which I am absolutely biased towards because it's a personal favorite). There are 3 love interests - Leos is a top, Cyne is a bottom, and Fawn switches.
Additionally, people don't always remember this one, but Gian from Lucky Dog 1 is uke for all of his love interests, but there are two scenes where he is seme.
Both take place in the 1st chapter of the game in prison. One with a very horny prison guard and one where he sexually assaults an inspector.
I personally prefer to play as a bottom mc, idk i usually get attached to the mc in the games i play and in my mind, my favorite character is always the bottom lmao
I'd say if the game story line is from the point of one main character (e.g all of Nitro+Chiral games), I'd probably prefer him to be a bottom - as long as he is a well-done character, not a uwu uke kind of character, in that case I'd probably drop the game lol. I also enjoy power bottoms quite a lot.
There are, though, some particular games where I like tops quite a bit more and would prefer their perspective. For example one may argue that in Friendly Lab by Tennenouji you have 2 MCs that are always on screen so they have equal time/lines, but due to the plot, top (East) is more interesting, in a way, and his presence is kinda domineering/guiding the plot? It's almost like we side with him in uncovering memories of West, and not being an impartial observer as supposed to.
So it's honestly depends on character writing itself. I also don't mind switch (Omerta/NU:Carnival) as long as you have an option to opt-in into switching, and as long as it doesn't make the MC too OOC, depending on if he tops/bottoms lol.
switch, ive always loved bottom mcs since im used to playing blvns with a bottom mc. but switches are my go-to! ooe was probably the first time ive seen a top mc in a blvn!
