How do you pick your first LI in otome games?

Before I know their personalities and stories, I will choose the character whose appearance, voice and temperament attract me more as the first love object.

I used to choose based only on appearance; now I choose more based on the voice actor, and only then on appearance

Mostly I look first at the person I like by appearance and who fits my type. If I don't really like this character in the common route, I take a closer look at the others

If not, I start with the types I'm not as fond of.
I save my favorite for last.

Almost always the cutest character design !! But if none strikes or if i find multiple lis pretty i will just go for route order recommendations if there's any or just go with what personality seems the most enjoyable to me (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

For me, it's probably more about their personality and role in the story. If there's a villain among the romanceable characters, I'd probably go for them first. I really like mysterious villain-type characters. My second choice would probably be a character who shows very strong feelings for me from the beginning. I guess I like characters who make their interest pretty obvious!

I pick up based on recommend route. My favorite character always at last when I try to play otome game. Since I don't want spoilers from routes, I follow recommend route to make the mystery build up and finale at the end. It give me motivated to finish the game which helps a lot. I love how story are connect to each other which is build up informations and hits I could look for finale. It take plenty of time to get my favorite routes all the time but its worth it. I usually play otome game during a long break so its great.

there's no way to know their personalities, so at first i judge from their appearance. if there's someone with a softer and pretty look i tend to like them first, and they end up having my preferred personality to match! (⁠~⁠￣⁠³⁠￣⁠)⁠~
