How did you get into anime ?

My brother borrowed my laptop when I was 12 and when he gave it back there's a folder full of donwloaded anime in it 😂 kinda forgot what was my first but the one that left the most impression for me was Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
 
Hmm since i was young i was watching anime but 16 years ago, i discovered that it was japan who made it ( i was watching it with my native language voices ) , so i made some search and started watching anime with Japanese language voices
 
Anime was playing on some of the channels I had as a kid, and I really liked the serial nature because most of the shows that I saw back then were episodic. I also really liked the art styles, so that drew me in too!
 
I got into anime from my sister when I was around ten with Sailor Moon, though at the time I'm pretty certain that my sister didn't know that it was anime. Regardless, I'm super into anime now and I couldn't be happier!
 
I dont really member exactly how... but when the CDs are still in the market, my brother bought CDs of Naruto XDDD
And i started to watch them together. Also, around 2010~2012, i started to use computer and found anime pages?
So i watched a lot of anime everytime a new season starts (spring, summer, autumn, winter).
 
I was 4 and animes always play at my local TV station every evening starting around 6 pm, or Sunday mornings. I always thought they were great so naturally I pivoted into enjoying anime, especially ever since my parents got cable TV that has access to Animax Asia.

My life has never been the same since.
 
The very first one I saw was Digimon when I was about 6 years old, but I didn't know it was anime since I was just a kid XD There were others like Bakugan, Saint Seiya, and Yu-Gi-Oh! (my older brother and I were addicted to that one; we even used to collect the cards and won rare cards when we went to see the movie in the cinema. My brother still collects the cards, but I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh! because he kept making up rules, just like he does in Uno, lol) Now, the first one I really recognized as anime was Naruto when I was about 12. It always aired in the afternoon on a popular children's TV program where I live. I remember always being super excited to watch the next episodes, haha. They only showed up to the part with the battle between the Third Hokage and Orochimaru; after his death and the funeral episode, it would start all over again. I think that's because not all the episodes were dubbed back then XD
 
Think it started with Pokemon and watching Yu-Gi-Oh then switching to Adult Swim on Saturdays to watch anime on Toonami.
 
I got into anime because my sister love Japanese and Japanese culture. If not for my sister I don't think I will be watching anime.
 
i remembered watching naruto and pokemon on the tv as a kid casually alongside western cartoons, eventually i decided to watch more as i continued watching naruto
 
I also happened to watch sailor moon as my first and I lived out in the country so I had very little access to other channels besides kids WB.
I remember really getting into yugioh and digimon soon after. Then was able to have satelite and would watch toonami alot with my sister.
 
Apart from the few episodes i watched on tv, the first time i actually watched a series from top to bottom knowing it was anime was Soul eater like 15 years ago, i loved the atmosphere, the sound and the desings so much that i started to watch a bunch of anime trying to find something similar

i started thanks to my big bro , we used to buy cds to watch them on an old dvd player and he used to buy anime with pretty characters , that's how my first anime ended up being code geass !!
 
My grandma tuned into the scratchiest channel ive ever seen with her old CRT TV and it was showing Sailor Moon. She decided to do leave the channel as is while doing chores and since i was bed ridden at that time, I end up watching it.
