How did you discover the r18 cd scene?

Ah... the old days of youtube. That's actually how I discovered r18 audios esp. with BL. That's also the time I discovered that 1) some of my fave male seiyus have done blcds and it was a shock for the 18 year old me 😃 and 2) that there's bl audio versions of bl mangas out there. 😃

I came across those japanese joseimuke asmr channels (they had like scripts with storyline and everything, not just the asmr sounds) which were not r18, and I have seen people uploading otome cds on youtube, but again not r18. So I became curious and tried searching online to look for r18 ones but maybe I wasnt familiar with what terms to search for so nothing really popped up.
But then I happened to come across on douyin someone posting like a snippet of an r18 cd and I was like omg it sounds so good, and that was how I discovered it lol
 
I was just scrolling through the feed in social media and suddenly saw the picture of cute looking guy, clicked and that's exactly how I found the R18 CDs, only after that I got to know to all-age CDs
 
I found some audio from the game *Amnesia* on YouTube, and I kept searching until I found the moaning sounds. Hahaha.
 
I found out about it after looking up a voice actor who posts all-ages ASMR on YouTube and discovering that they also sold R18 works on DLsite. It was quite a shock at the time, haha.
 
It's always hard to recall exactly how something started, isn't it
Before you know it, it has simply become a part of your daily life...
In my case, I think I probably stumbled upon it while looking up information about a voice actor I liked.
 
hmhmhm i think it's because of tiktok... i was just doomscrolling as usual when i found a post about nanami kento's voice actor (kenjiro tsuda) doing a cd, got curious and tries to search on it and finally found it on soundcloud.
 
I remember there was this one yt acc that would post snippets of r18 cds and just like a Victorian man seeing ankles for the first time, I immediately found meaning in my life...l fell down the rabbit hole and I've been listening ever since 🥹

ahhh this is what happened with me too! Just randomly found r18 BL CDs uploaded on youtube with the actual manga to go along with it. I was SHOCKED the say the least. (Casually just spent 30 minutes trying to find what manga it was but I can't remember for the life of me T_T)
 
I didn't "discover" it but stumbled upon it....and it was very very very stupid....also because I was just young and dump.

Believe it or not, I stumbled upon r18 dramas in YouTube, full ones with some even have extra stories after the ending. I was just listening to normal otome drama CDs by the classic seiyuus like Kaji Yuki, Ishikawa Kaito, Umehara Yuichiro etc. until I saw one name of THAT SEIYUU.....and clicked to listen and then HOLY SHIT that drama got me all steamed red...out of embarrassment of course cause like I said I was young and dump.

From that time onwards I only get to know there r18 dramas CDs out there, full ones on YouTube, SoundCloud literally EVERYWHERE before they started censoring or banning it.
 
i was strolling around soundcloud an stumble upon it LMAO. i love drama cds and soundcloud used to be a HUUUGE library for drama cd. from that i begin to explore a lot more and find out a whole new world (rated drama cd) lol
 
I found out because of tiktok then moved to Telegram and SoundCloud.
 
Tumblr has been the genesis of this obsession. I was trying to look for r18 anime female gaze images on there and I stumbled across this tag and the rest is history lmao.
 
at first, i only knew about anime drama cd bonuses.

then one day, if i remember correctly, i saw an otome drama cd ad on a website where i read manga. i ignored it for a long time, but eventually, i clicked on it out of curiosity because of the poster and title. i also listened to the preview, and lol, i still remember what the poster looked like! i can't remember which website the ad was from, but i remember it was for one of mitsuhashi wataru's works. surprisingly, i can still easily find that drama cd just by remembering the ad lol.

but that was it at first, and i didn't look into it any further.

later, since i really liked reading josei one-shots, i came across a comment discussing otome drama cds. i think the person was a fan translator who talked about them, and that random comment made me want to dig deeper into the otome drama cd scene. it even led me to this forum because she mentioned it (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
 
I found out about drama CDs in general from a mix of manga piracy websites and this forum, which led me to DLsite where I then browsed through its otome catalog.
 
I found the holy land when I searched up for new recommendation manga and games cuz I finished a few series. Saw some pretty arts up there and then linking it to other products beside manga, anime, music... just like Diabolik Lovers, so I kept digging more and yeahhhhhh, it did opened some new doors for me. Btw SoundCloud, thank you for guiding me at my very first step of the new world
 
I didn't discover it, it found me lol I got it recommended through YT and after YT cracked down on them I changed to soundcloud so on so forth xD
