Why theyre are no apk download for the android version but only zip?

The download speeds can be pretty slow for people, so every MB can make a difference. That's why the apk was put into a zip archive.
It used to be a 7z for more effective compression, but since unpacking those is not a standard feature on most phones it was switched to zip instead.
