Hex Cracking

Does anyone experience with cracking? If so what am I doing wrong? I followed a chinese bro's instruction

Find a complete version of winhex, open the exe file with winhex, select the two sections of "4D5A90" and delete them, then save it. For details, see the post.

but the game exe said it's corrupt, after I tried to open it. To be more precise, I used winhex on
光翼戦姫エクスティアF パラレルエピソード2 リユニオン, and then selected the first two 4D5A90 and deleted them by pressing the Delete button.

Supposedly, the user should have given you a modifier for the hex value, and not telling you to press delete button. Something like fill in 0000 in the hex code or .... in the ASCII, as simply delete hex value may cause unintended consequences.

Anyway if you want to crack it, search for the crack file in this forum and download from there. Should save you all the trouble.

"4D 5A" is an exe signature from wikipedia. Deleting that might change the signature and thus corrupting the file.

Since you said it have two section, what if you try to delete all first section from beginning until you found the start of second section?

That's also fine, but considering most eroge's use the same copyright protection learning to remove it myself will spare me much begging(which I hate) in the future, not to mention I'm interested in reverse engineering
