Have you ever started an otome game for one character but ended up falling for a completely different one?

Take a simple as LADS haha. I literally started playing because of Sylus. I've always been into older, dominant, kinda red-flag men, so obviously I thought he was gonna be my favorite lmao.

But then Caleb came back and… yeah, that plan went out the window Somehow I ended up liking him more than Sylus. I think I just have a thing for the big brother type?? Like that "this feels kinda wrong but I'm into it anyway" dynamic and the fact that he's so obsessed and possessive makes it even worse LOL.

Yes, the most recent example is Matsurika no Kei. I originally picked it up for Seirin because I've always had a soft spot for gentle, beautiful guys. But after playing his route, I actually ended up disliking him. The one I fell for instead was Enrai, even though he isn't my usual type at all.

Another case is Olympia Soiree. I played it for Tokisada (since he's friendly and kind), but Riku ended up being my favorite in the end. And Riku isn't really my type either.

The common thread between these two is that they're both pretty cold and harsh toward the MC at first... wait, am I turning into a masochist?

haha yes! most of the time it is like that like with Olympia Soiree played for Akaza ended up with Himuka, Piofiore with Nicola ended with Yang, CxM with Kei ended with Takeru. It really do be like that most of the time haha

That happens a lot to me lol For example Dante from Piofiore pique my interest (ofc he's the poster boy after all). But I ended up loving Nicola more!

or I like Yashiro from Illusion of Itehari because his heterochromia, but damn... I love Yori more after playing it (and his brother too lol).

I played dialovers for kanato and ended up buying merch of Reiji the moment i finished his route LOLOLOLOL...

I also put Tilkett (SoK) at the bottom of my LI pre-ranking for being blonde but... folded anyway, since he's an okamoto character. I thought Heath would be my fav and he turned out to be my least! Still love him though.

At first, you have absolutely no intention of getting hooked on anyone other than the character who originally caught your eye—but the more you learn about another one, the more drawn in you become...
And before you know it, you're completely captivated.
For me, that character was from *Hakuoki*.
I started out liking Toshizo Hijikata, but while playing through Sanosuke Harada's route, I found myself totally won over...

LMAO YES, definitely happened to me on multiple occasions. But to follow your example, I also ended up switching faves in LADS

Back when it first launched, I started LADS because of Xavier but then I reached chapter 4 in main story and there he was — I met my bias wrecker I also ended up liking Caleb a lot more and was frustrated that he wasn't an LI yet at the time Literally waited for an entire year for him to come home

For me it was starting even if Tempest for Tyril and literally falling for every character hahaha
