have you ever liked a character but disliked their va? does it affect how much you like the character?

I rarely dislike their VAs. The most important thing is the personality. If I don't like the character's personality, a good VA could never convince me to like him.

Tho I think the closest one is when Tachibana Shinnosuke voiced Direttore from Piofiore. I hate, for the love of god, his voice as Direttore, but I love it when he voiced Henri. So, maybe it depends on how the voice actor delivers his line? lol

i feel this way towards zayne from love and deepspace and his english va. eventually i just switched to a chinese voice-over for him

I have never actually hated a character cause of his voice actor, on the contray some LIs are so irredeemable that a good VA cannot save them for me. But I do get sick of the same seiyuu in otomes sometimes like the one that play multiple LIs in many games but their voice sound similar among all LIs? Like Yuichiro Ume, Kaji, they are great and I actually really like their voice in general but they have too many roles especially Ume in recent otomes. I want more diverse VAs I miss Miyano Mamoru🥲

For me, it's very rare.
But I don't really like some voice actor because of bad personality, such as cheating on his wife.

I don't remember anything like this happening to me. At most, I sometimes get surprised when a character I've been looking forward to hearing finally gets a voice reveal, and the voice is completely different from what I had envisioned. But in the end, my mind adjusts, and I don't have any issues with the voice actor choice. I remember listening to Ryokuha's voice from Sullyland for the first time and being quite surprised, but now I think it really suits him!

Not a single one from my opinion, the producers alr picked out the most suitable VA for their character most of the time, it's important since it depict the whole traits so they did it really well

I've never actually had that happen. The closest experience for me is probably when I finish a game with no VA, and then the official release adds voice acting later. The voices end up feeling a bit off compared to how I imagined the LIs would sound — like in Watashi no Real wa Juujitsu Shisugiteiru.

It's actually doesn't really matter for me BUT, my first impression to a new characters that i see and imagining how their voice will be and when it's doesn't turn out the same as I thought made me doesn't see that character the same as i first thought...as time goes by it will be okay and if I like that character it will be, but the thought of my first impression will definitely stuck to my head 😭
