Have you ever had a character make you realize how old you've gotten?

When I first played the game, he was this cool, older working guy—an ONI-SAN—but now I'm a working adult around the same age as him...

yes, i've had that moment too lol.
it suddenly hits me when i realize i'm now the same age as some of the lis i like, or even older than them.
after that realization, i just tell myself to forget about the age number. i still feel young anyway lol (⑅˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ )

YES I remember thinking LIs in their mid-20s were these mature, older men when I first started playing otome games, and now I'm literally older than some of them. What's even worse is that characters in their 30s don't seem that old to me anymore (WHICH THEY AREN'T btw) It's so weird realizing that these characters stay the same age while we're the ones getting older

In my case I always get reminded of my age whenever I think about the otome mc's age :'). But what can we do otome literally means young maiden age below 18yrs old... and them being below 18 means some of their LIs tend to be young too gosh I tend to avoid young LIs because it doesnt sit right with me :') unless mc is of similar age.

That's a rather brutal question! I especially feel this way when playing gacha games. The main story barely progresses for years, while the same seasonal events keep coming around again and again. But then they celebrate another anniversary, and it hits me that both the characters and I have somehow gotten older. The longer a game goes on, the more I feel the passage of time, along with the inevitable sense of déjà vu and stagnation. It's a strange mix of nostalgia and existential dread!
