Has there ever been an otome that you were excited about and waited for so long only to play it and find that it very disappointing?

Is there any? Cause I actually want to read reviews about them and watch gameplay of them

Jack Jeanne was my case, unfortunately. I don't usually look for websites, reviews, or anything like that when I'm going to play a game, especially a novel where I don't want any spoilers for the story. I loved the game's music, the characters aren't bad, but I felt that overall it was more of a story about friendship than romance. More than 80% of the game is the common route; the last chapter is where you enter the character's route, and I played all the characters' routes, including Kisa.

I won't even mention much about the art (which I also didn't like), but after playing so much I kind of got used to the visuals. The game is very well made; the music mini-games are quite reminiscent of UtaPri. BROCCOLI usually always makes games with mini-games involved. Their strongest point, without a doubt, was the music in my opinion, and what made me not enjoy the game the most was this feeling of reading a story about friendship and dreams. The only kiss CG in the game is Orimaki., Yonaga, Orimaki, and Kai were the ones I think I enjoyed the most, although Kai story could have been developed a bit more. I'm even sadder because I was genuinely looking forward to playing it at the time. I thought that as the game progressed and I explored the other character routes, I might even like it. The only character I enjoyed interacting with was Minorikawa, and he's not even one of the main characters, but yep, I really couldn't enjoy the game.

Yes, there have been. But I think it's hard to please everyone. No otome game can satisfy every player's taste, especially since everyone has different standards for their ideal type and romanceable characters. That's actually quite similar to real dating. So to avoid getting something you don't like, you still need to learn about the game's setting and background beforehand. Even after doing that, you might still end up not liking it after playing. In that case, maybe a little spoiler could help, depending on how much you can tolerate being spoiled.
