Since discussing about the games in irrelevant topics may be inappropriate in several ways, I thought discussing in a seperate topic may be okay.
Of course, making a thread for a single game discussion is better, but if you have a little question about a game or a recommendation request, writing them in this topic may be useful.
I hope making this kind of general threads is not against the AS rules (*_ _)

Right now I'm concerned about the future of Cheritz.
Right after Dandelion had been greenlit and the announcement of the third game, they've been really quiet lately.
I saw their replies at their FB page, and all they answer was "no new updates right now".
Anyone here knows their current situation?

I also have a question, does Hana Awase have a card game system as a gameplay element?

Just reading Ideal Otome Game thread, and I would like to know the other fan opinion about R-18 otome game. Do you like it, or not? What aspect you consider before picking R-18 otome game?

I'm okay with R-18 otome game (and BL too ^^) First time I will check are they has my bias seiyuu as their voice acting, if yes, without thinking it back, I will buy the game. If not, I will check the story. The story are reasonable, I will buy it too, even though it also include rape-scene, I will still buy it. The story is most important (after my bias seiyuu xD) and rape-scene is just a bonus for me. When I want to hear and watch that scene, I will watch, and if I don't, I just skip that part. Like that, it doesn't bother me so much xD

How about you?

I don't tend to pay much attention to R-18 releases (I'm not into BL either). The few I did play I just skipped past the sex scenes, because they make me laugh too much.
I prefer the rated 15-17 ones tbh, mature enough to have very serious situations but not immature enough to run around giggling making sploshy sounds and wallowing in unnecessary out of character rape scenes (I'm looking at you Akazukin)

Graphic is important to me first When graphic is not preference, I am troubled.(´・ω・`)
I do it to check a story next.
The opinion of people who played a game serves as a reference.

I see... I also look to graphic, sometime I find myself not comfortable with some titles which have low graphic. But, the story is still most important.

Ah... So you prefer PSP game nee? Because there's no R-18 otome game in PSP (SONY can't allow it ^^)
Hm... because you skipping the sex scene, you still play them because the story, right? Ooh, you're right, even myself usually laughing when hearing the sex scenes >_<;

My opinion on it is pretty known now thanks to my wall of text in that thread, but I'll state my simplified one here: I don't like nor dislike R18+ games any more or less than all-ages titles. Both have proven as able to be as good or shit as each other. A lot of the time, R18+ is "darker" because writers expect girls who like that kind of stuff to have darker tastes, which is stupid, but that's another argument for later. I do like dark stories a lot, but a lot of the time, the storylines (read: character "development") take a turn for the darker so unnaturally. They (arguably) stick to tropes a lot worse than all-ages games. Great seiyuu, an often tsundere childhood friend, the incest-but-not-incest (usually brother) guy, a childish guy or older "oyaji" guy, the yandere rapist and the playboy-type are all you need to tap into the majority of the R18+ otome market, srsly. Very sad.

The sex scenes even follow common tropes as well. Some of them even use the same phrases! They're usually so dull that I pretty much view them as part of the story or character development rather than porn. If the protagonist isn't getting raped, it's almost completely vanilla sex. Vanilla sex isn't bad, but it gets dull after many scenes in a row of it.

Sure, I have favourite seiyuu and so on but I never let seiyuu be a major deciding factor. It's a recipe for disaster unless you're the type of gamer that really doesn't give a damn about the quality of what you read. So many shit otome games have amazing casts since creators are acutely aware of how much money they can make off of girls who are willing to drop cash just for one seiyuu. A cast has never been, and never will be an indication of quality in my eyes.

The major things I look for in R18+ otome is the same as all-ages: promising plot and decent characters.

No, I prefer PC games to PSP ones because of graphic - tiny PSP screen gots nothing on a 32 inch screen XD
I like PSP otome games (and I actually did enjoy the Diabolik Lovers Vita version) as a short distraction but long periods of playing a game on a tiny screen gives me eyestrain.

I also agree with @LaCal, most of the sex scenes get dull after a while because they just keep repeating themselves.

@LaCaL
Actually I don't mind if you want to make a long post. Your post always amazed me xD Beside I love to read other opinion with long explanation (even though myself doesn't have enough brave to create a long post >_<)
That's true!! I know they (Developer) always offering us many great seiyuu to their R-18 otome game >_<
Speaking of which, maybe I'm include as a "blind seiyuu fangirl"--I will throw my money because of them (thankfully my bias seiyuu hasn't done many R-18 otome games) type. I don't know why, but after bought the game and play it, I will think it--route story was good for me xDD

And... you have good perspective as a gamer... One day, I want to be like you >_<;

@SilverAliisza
I see~~ haha I'm jealous to know you have 32 inch monitor for PC (that's really huge @w@) Mine is 19 inch haha

XD I have two monitors actually, can't wait to update the 27 inch one to another 32 inch one.
19 inch is what I had on my laptop, it's a decent size but I would squint at it too often :c Bad eyesight and bad habits ruining said bad eyesight.

Though I wish more otome games had full HD CG's and stuff. I was replaying Black Wolves Saga on full screen lately and noticed that it seems it's upscaled from a lower res D: Same for TinyxMachinegun.

Speaking of TinyxMachinegun, seeing how this is general otome gaming discussion - anyone knows if there is a walkthrough for it? I can figure out what reply to get by abusing the quicksave, but I'm having a bad feeling I'll miss a secret ending somewhere that way...

Waai~~ I'm really jealous right now >_<;
Yes, even at my screen some PC VN's games; if I play it in window mode, it really small and if I go into fullscreen mode it become very low quality @w@

By the way, about TinyxMACHINEGUN walkthrough; it's here:
http://mblg.tv/8059125/entry/1458/
It's Reigand walkthrough, and the links below the image are refers to other character walkthrough. If you cannot read some Japanese, I will help you to translate it a little xD But, I haven't play the game...

Thank you! <3
I can read Japanese ^^ I can't really SPEAK it, but I can understand written and spoken Japanese quite well :D (even if more advanced grammar and more complex kanji make me scratch my head).

Your welcome ;)
It's true. I'm still learning kanji's and there's too much difficult-to-write kanji's...

Then, I'm kinda interested with TinyxMACHINEGUN, can you tell me how's the story?

So far I only started and I'm going down Wolf's route. The game is ok so far, but I'm only on the 2nd chapter so as far as story is concerned: all I know is Tiny sucks at fixing coffee makers and prefers to ride or run straight into gunshooting action (aka, she's my kind of protagonist).
It's just a shame this game is just partially voiced. *sigh*

It's not full voiced? <(@w@)||--3
Too bad, but I'm still has some interest in it. If you done at least one route please do tell me ^^;

Well so far it's fr more futuristic than I thought it would be and there seems to be some conspiracy and... vampires? involved. I'm confused more and more with every chapter XD
It has cool music though.

yeah sadly it's not fully voiced - most lines have just a 'hai' or 'ara' or 'yappari' etc spoken lines. I am yet to find a full line of dialogue that would be voiced. :c

Oh, it just like Dangan Ronpa, nee? I rarely playing VN with partial voiced, and Dangan Ronpa was come to my mind >_<;
The music will be plus point for me xD Because I do enjoying BGM of game hehe
Good luck with your current chapter then...

XD ye a lot like dangan ronpa - the unvoiced part of the game is the 'main' part where you choose which route you go down; the actual character routes from Chapter 7 onwards are fully voiced.

I finished Wolf's path but TBH I skipped through it (I realized I don't give enough foks about the character) then I quickly skipped through Jenkins' path to unlock Break path because his and Heinz's are apparently where the actual plot is at, or so I heard - and it's true.

I'll put the plot in a spoiler tag:

Tiny x Machinegun spoilers ahead. I skipped all the 'tweests', what I put down is an overview of the general plot without revealing the 'real baddie names' etc.
Basically Break is a nosferatu who can't die and an organization bent on destroying the world as it is now - because it is rotten - and recreating it anew is using Break to fulfill the first part of their plan. Meanwhile some years ago the main char's grandpa, Bradley McDaniell, put Break in jail and he swore vengence; he was in some high tech prison for about 20 years or so and he one day asked his guard about Bradley (the guy who put him in jail - Tiny's grandpa; he was apparently murdered because he was getting in the way of this 'new world' plan) but the guard told him that Bradley is already dead. So Break got all 'do not want' and 'y u do dis, I was the one to kill you'. The plot happens 10 years after Bradley's death I believe. When the game starts Tiny is fighting crime in NYcity with her siscon bro and his buddy.

Frankly, I enjoyed this game so far. I only completed Break's ends (the other 2 that are necessary to unlock his path I just skimmed through, mostly because the characters didn't endear themselves to me in any way) - his dead end and his best end are really REALLY good, although I did not see either of them coming. Which is, I guess, a good thing?

Gory game, though. Lots and lots of death, messed up situations where people die no matter what you pick, lots of situations where people die if you pick the WRONG thing and even more situations where you are just like 'holy crap what more can happen to make this even more messed up'. And then more messed up stuff happens.
....
I like this game a lot.

Thank you for the review and I also read the spoiler ^^
I think, I already like Break so much ;) His personality is the reason why I like him >_<; But, if I see from graphic PoV, I love Heinz kyaaa... I cannot resist his megane xD

Hm... It's have dark themes because of many death and it happen in the same world with us ^^
Ok! I think I will give a try for this game xD
Thank you so much... I love the spoiler part ohohoho~

By the way, I'm just wondering is it would be nice if we have walkthrough thread or talks in otome section? Not just copying it from Japanese site, but make it into a thread, or even translating it into English? If this section exist, I would like to help making some walkthrough ;)
