Takara : ill keep it short for him because its the same as his route in the first game, everything is bad and nothing makes sense. There isnt one moment i liked. The relationship with Azuma doesnt make sense, Azuma liking him doesnt make sense, Mitsugi and Matsuda following them abroad doesnt make sense, etc. Im not even complaining about the whole cannibalism thing because i think there should have been ways to make it "hot" or "cute" whatever (especially since cannibalism can be a metaphor for many things), but it isnt the case here. I do find it interesting tho to have a character who looks like a shota but his a top with a huge D. I wouldve liked to see it btw, the contrast between his small frame and his huge D, but too bad we dont get to see it. Seeing his perspective on some reverse stories on the island was nice too like when we got to see some behind the scenes of the murders, but i wished we got to see what he thought once he realized Azuma has been having affairs with Matsuda/Mitsugi. Also, i do find Takaras dad and brother better looking than him. But i do like that on one cg he sticks his tongue out while doing the deed with Azuma, i think it summed him up well idk ? To be honest, i speedran his after story and reverse stories, but i read the key moments. I also did skip a lot of the H scenes too
Matsuda : ngl even after everything on the island i think he is the best bf/husband for Azuma. His after story had plenty of cute moments... And im so glad that he stopped being a tyran and treats Azuma well. You better treasure him. I like all their cgs together, they are very hot/cute. It doesnt erase that he ra/ped Azuma on the island (and still never apologized.........) but he will spend the rest of his life loving Azuma and treating him good, so lets get what we can get. Azumas life as Matsudas bf will be way better than as Takaras/Mitsugis bf because its the only route where Azuma isnt the slave of his LI lmaooo. Their relationship is way more equal and "healthy" compared to the other 2. ANd i like the fact that Matsuda only hits Azuma during s3x if he is the one asking for it. And i love when Azuma strangled Matsuda during one H scene... Like, you go king !!!! strangle that b!tch!!!! he doesnt deserve oxygen. Matsuda accepting Azuma being violent to him in return is something im glad to see. Speaking about h scenes, i certainly didnt expect to have a whole view of Matsudas asshole and butt/thighs, but im not complaining. Idk how biaised i am but i like their H scenes, thats the only ones i found hot + Matsuda is hot too. I like his voice/appearance/attitude. On a side note, Matsuda/Azuma as backpackers is so cute and suits them well. I also liked that Matsuda ended up bonding with Ogino over how cute Azuma is (even if Azuma was just completely excluded from the convo...). It was good to see Ogino too. He is annoying and forcefully invites himself/cant read the room, but he isnt a bad dude.
Mitsugi : ohmygod. Where to start ? Ill go with the good points first. He is less insufferable than in the og game, and he finally has different voice tones. Also, thank you Azuma for putting his hair in a ponytail, he looks so much better with his hair tied! Btw, the cg of Azuma tying Mitsugis hair is my fav cg of his route. Generally speaking most of the Mitsugi cgs look better in Musubi than in the og game, i think his face is better AND the tied hair is way better. Finally, we have cgs of Mitsugi smiling at Azuma. And finally, Mitsugi has some cute moments with Azuma : when theyr are in the cemetary the scene was cute especially when Mitsugi tells Azuma that NO he isnt a loser and that he loves him. Im glad it happened, because Mitsugi kept diminishing him. The idea of Mitsugi building a home just for the 2 of them is very cute too. Azuma teases Mitsugi more too, even if its very light. For the reverse routes, its interesting to know that one of the reasons Mitsugi was so mean to Azuma in the first game was because he was physically attracted to him but he wasnt at peace with it. It makes his actions a little less annoying and im happy to know he got scared that Azuma was drowning when he pushed him in the lake, because in the og game it almost looked like he didnt care about almost killing him... Thats it for the good points.
Now for the rest... Well, i still hate him. When we are told that he invites Azuma to his place so that he can clean up for him?? It reminds me of those IRL men who invite their gf or mom their apartment so that they can do their chores for them. I find it so despicable. Even without that, i personnally think that inviting people over to an apartment which is just a big trashcan is just disrespectful. He isnt even sorry for it, not one bit. Azuma has to do EVERYTHING for him : he makes his food, he has to buy the groceries, he does his laundry, he cleans up the whole place and he doesnt even get a thank you. Because no, Mitsugi telling Azuma that "his food is always delicious" once doesnt make up for everything. Poor Azuma has the bar so low that Mitsugi saying the food was good was the nicest interaction they had in a while... Not only does Mitsugi expect Azuma to do everything for him, he doesnt even make the slightest effort to not transform his place in a dumpster ? He still doesnt put his clothes away, still throws his trash on the ground, because he knows that in a few days his slav... uh sorry his "lover" will clean up everything for him whatever happens. Also, when they start having s3x and Azuma gets to worry about more stuff being dirty, i got so mad when Mistugi told him to "just do one more laundry" like omg go fck yourself Mitsugi ? Cant you do anything with those 2 arms of yours ? Instead of giving even more work to Azuma. The way Mitsugi thinks Azuma being at his service is normal just makes my blood boil. I really have the impression that im following a basic straight couple (well except that Azuma gets to orgasm at least). Speaking about H scenes, i still dont find their scenes particularily good and i still dont get what Mitsugi does that would make him very good at s3x. Azuma is always cute but Mitsugi is just meh. I really dont find him hot. One good thing in one of their H scenes tho is Mitsugi telling Azuma that its so great that he produces that much liquid during s3x. This was nice, especially since Azuma gets embarassed by it even tho it can only help him having more enjoyable intercourse. Besides the fact that Azuma gets to enjoy s3x, the rest of their relationship is so bad. One of the cgs and supposedly "cute" moment being Mitsugi trying to prepare dinner and just destroying everything says it all. How is it cute ? Thank you Mitsugi for destroying the food AZUMA had bought, for forcing AZUMA to cook again and for giving AZUMA even more work because you didnt even want to clean up the big mess you made !!!!!! how romantic !!! what a fantastic couple !!! oh and we are supposed to find this scene cute because Mitsugi kissed Azuma to make him shut up and do the cooking/dishes !!!! for fucks sake... If i wanted to see a very bad straight couple dynamic ill just be going to my parents apartment for the weekend, thank you. Thank god Azuma cant get pregnant because im sure Mitsugi would want to impregnate him and then he would 10000% let Azuma handle ALL the work concerning the kids. Even their last scene which is supposed to be very cute falls completely flat. Like, aaaaw how cute Mitsugi and Azuma are saying theyll build their home together to create their own paradise!! Cant wait to see Mitsugi just transforming this new made "paradise" home into a dumpster <333 cant wait to see this "paradise" where Azuma gets to be Mitsugis domestic labor slave for the rest of his life <333333
Whats up with that relationship dynamic ? Is it really this couple we are supposed to root for ? They gave Mitsugi so many plot reveals in the og game and so many "true route" vibes all for him to be this shitty of a boyfriend. At least, with Takara i can see that he is supposed to appeal to a more niche audience and i dont feel forced to like him, but with Mitsugi you can clearly see they wanted people to like him. And it worked, since i saw he is the most popular LI... Sorry but out of all BL games ive played he is one of the worst LIs ive seen. I really dont vibe with him at all. Also, i thought Mitsugi was supposed to not be attracted to his mentor Kotohara because he was "family" ? So whats up with the reverse routes saying that he wants to bang Azuma who also reminds him of his dead father figure ? DId Mitsugi actually want to bang is late mentor then, as opposed to what the og game told us ? I know its not the case but the writing was so confusing here.
Azuma deserves so much better. After everything Azuma has been through, he needs to finally be at peace. Him being a mistreated kid, not having anyone giving him food and him having to take care of himself on his own and then once he became adult the "good" end being him in a relationship with a manchild who doesnt do anything for him and treats him like his domestic slave just doesnt sit right with me.
(granted Shirasu's jealousy/possessiveness kinda came out of nowhere during the H scene, ironically it was Tademaru who kept throwing jealousy tantrums in his route. Sonogi said at one point that Shirasu purposefully trolling Tademaru with a text message was supposed to be a sign of his jealousy but I didn't really feel his jealousy in that scene, guess I would've liked less subtle displays of jealousy from him.) Granted I preferred it when it seemed like the suicide case was about Shirasu trying to avenge a deceased lover, I didn't like the twist that apparently no, Sonogi just gaslighted himself into thinking it was about a deceased lover when instead it was about a random dude who indirectly helped Shirasu reconcile with his dad. This twist made the plot of his route feel much weaker to me. Also the pacing of his route also started feeling off to me towards the end. Granted it was still am enjoyable route to me.
