Favourite Love Interest From "Love and Deepspace" and why?

there is a huge scandal on CN side going on right now regarding Valko and all the other issues that piled up before his announcement. From what I understand, the main complaints were 1. Valko looked too ragged and "western" for chinese players, everyone kept calling him ugly on socials. 2. veeery slow main story updates, Caleb and Sylus still missing some content compared to original 3 LIs and now they announced Valko, which means everyone else would be getting less attention (apparently Caleb's story hasn't been updated in 500 days already?), other issues like 6.0 not giving any new meaningful features, apart from a house update, stingy rewards etc. So chinese fans reactions got wild fast, it even made the news, so the company decided that scraping Valko was the best move I guess. They not just cancelled Valko, but said they would not be working on new LIs anymoreView attachment 107329

XD I died laughing at the part where said they found Valko ugly. Where is that man ugly?? Well, everyone has their own opinion and tastes, I'm not going to judge even though I strongly disagree! I think the other points are valid about not having content for the other two guys. If Sylus and Caleb really need more lore, I think they should focus on that before adding a new love interest, but I found it quite extreme for Infold to say they are permanently canceling Valko and that they don't intend to add any more love interests... I hope they end up changing their minds for the sake of the people who were waiting for Valko

yes most concerns are valid and should have been definitely addressed, but not like this, Infold instead they just scraped the new guy, will need to rewrite main story without him now, create new cards and so on... who thought it was a good decision?
I think he looked cute with his glasses, so playful AND smart (with his own lab), how could anyone hate this goofball

I've also seen how wild the drama is lol. While I don't like some of the reactions of the playerbase and found extremes on both sides, I honestly think the company is to blame for lack of communication and other several reasons tbh. I don't condone the extreme attitudes and actions, but why would anyone accept continuous terrible treatment from a company????

I think their many other issues such as mismanagement and poor communication is also a factor tbh. Also, their government apparently got involved and unhappy with them could also be another factor, but I'm not Chinese and I didn't research too deeply about this.

I'm not going to look at social media posts involving anything PaperGames/Infold for a while since I don't wanna lose my sanity lol

Yikes, I only just heard the news and I'm genuinely surprised. Personally, I didn't see any problem with Valko; he seemed genuinely interesting. It's the first time I've seen something like this happen.

The CN fanbase is absolutely crazy, but of course infold will bow down to their will while not giving a shit about global players. There are so many issues with lighting and costume glitches for MCs with darker skin colours but infold doesn't gaf, they'd rather lick the shoes of the rich and racist player base that sends cow poo to their actual headquarters and harasses their staff

I think there was a similiar controversy with their other game, MLQC, regarding Shaw. He didn't get deleted but he was shelved. They clearly didn't learn from their mistake lol. I think postponing things would be better, but there's a lot of issues that come with adding new LI (writing, number of content, quality. etc). Otome gacha games should not be treated like typical gacha games.

I don't think even other big CN otome gacha games (TOT, LN, LBC, etc) have the same issues. Granted, they don't add new LI outta nowhere, don't try to erase their otome marketing to try to appeal to everyone, and PaperGames/Infold has a lot of controversies out of all the big CN otome gacha companies.

My social media feed is a trainwreck, but I don't think CN players (the sane ones. And I don't like generalizing them as some people do and the same kinds of CN players the global fanbase is whining about also exist in the global space) are happy about this either lol. I'm pretty sure PaperGames/Infold erased him and incited a war between the global and CN players to save face bc I've seen some people mentioned that the scandal also reached major news outlets in China (and it's not about Valko being removed, but rather about something political). I guess their government is more important than the players.

Neither the Cn or the global playerbase are happy, with each thinking Infold is pandering to the other group. Main story updates arent gonna come faster now that Valko's cancelled.
This might end up similarly to MLQC where the players were against the latest li. And like they closed the global servers on that game this year too I think?

That's the worst part. Many players (on both sides) complained about real issues for a long time and got nothing but silence. The moment that toxic part of fandom arrived because they didn't like the looks of a new LI, Infold is ready to rewrite the story just for them. And still no actual QoL updates, just more waiting for everyone.
I haven't played MLQC a lot, but the fact that they already had the same problem and still didn't learn anything from it...
There are petitions to bring Valko back, but I honestly don't see it happening. Infold already showed that they won't do anything unless there are vanadalism, death threats and possibility of government getting involved. Anything less is not important enough to provoke any actions.

This is so disheartening to see. I thought about going back because of Valko (had to quit the game because of performance issues) but now I'm not touching anything made by the same company. They clearly don't respect their players or care about their own game/story.

I am completely obsessed with Rafayel and his drama king energy! His crazy expressive facial expressions and the way he constantly bickers with the MC make everyday interactions so chaotic and fun. He is honestly the perfect blend of a sassy tsundere and a playful, whiny baby—you can't help but want to tease him back!But what truly seals the deal for me is his tragic Sea God lore. The contrast between his playful daily behavior and that deep, heart-wrenching angst is just impeccable. The emotional depth and the romance they share are top-tier. He owns my whole heart!

I uninstalled the game. I was a massive rafayel fan and was genuinely excited for the new love interest and they removed him because of some backlash. They refused to address serious issues and now everyone paid the price .

I'm a Sylus fan and I love all of their LIs. Was super excited for Valko. Yesterday, after reading their official post about cancellation, I was heart broken, angry, frustrated and aggrieved. And I still am grieving.
They have now removed all of Valko's videos and pictures from their social media handles. It's as if last week's hype was nothing but April Fools' joke. Sorry about my monologue but I really had to get it out of my system.
I've signed the petitions for Valko and I'm boycotting LADS. If they don't bring back Valko, then I'll uninstall game as I won't be able to enjoy the game.
