Earphones or headphones for Otome CDs? 🎧

I use wired Bluetooth headphones because I'm afraid of losing them if I use completely wireless ones. If the cord is too long, I have a little trick: wrap it around my neck so it doesn't move around when I'm lying down listening to music.

I see, I see! 😊 Getting opinions from so many different people is honestly really helpful, and it's been so interesting hearing all the different perspectives.

I'll definitely keep all these different points of view in mind the next time I'm shopping for earphones or headphones. Thank you so much! 🥰🎧

I use earbuds as well and it is the Samsung Galaxy Buds2. So far I have this pair only so I' m not sure if Panasonic or Sony model sounds better quality? Does anyone know about it?

I use wired earphones, so I'm not sure how the earbuds compare, but Sony seems to be the brand that's getting the most praise from everyone in this thread!

Personally, I use a really cheap pair of Panasonic earphones, and I'd say the sound quality is pretty decent. Maybe around 70 out of 100? 😂

I tried both wired earphones and headphones before, I wasn't sure how but they wore out so quickly because I always use them in bed since I start listening to otome CDs,
For this reason I found earbuds are a nice upgrade....😆

I own a pair of Samsung earbuds, too, but I hardly ever use them because they don't fit my ears well and tend to fall out when I'm moving around.

Another downside is that they are quite bulky, so it's painful to wear them while lying on my side. As for sound quality, I still think Sony does a better job, and their products are significantly cheaper than Samsung's.

This is just my personal opinion, though.

I always use earphones!
I use Apple's wired EarPods when I listen while falling asleep. The sound quality is surprisingly good.
When I'm out, I use wireless ones ☺️

I think wired earphones, headphones, and earbuds all have their own pros and cons, so it's really hard to choose! 😂

When I listen to music outside, I use Razer gaming earbuds, and the sound quality is actually pretty good! 😆🎧

I kind of know what you mean, haha! 😂

But in the end, I don't want other people around me to hear what I'm listening to, so even though it's a little annoying, I still take out my earphones. I'm guessing you do the same, right? 😂

Are those the Apple wired EarPods that used to come included with iPhones back in the day?
If so, those actually sound really good, don't they?! 😊

I also use Razer wireless earbuds when I'm out! Lately, so many places have been crowded that I feel like I'd be in trouble without noise cancellation. 😂

Oh Tirin! I felt the same ...my ears also a bit painful if I continue to use the earbuds lying on the side for long hours. Sometimes I have to pause a few days until the ears not painful anymore.

May I ask which model ofSony earbuds you are using?

Yes, that's the one!
I love them so much that whenever they break, I actually go out of my way to buy just the earphones again! 😂
I don't like using wireless ones while sleeping because I always wake up and find that they've somehow disappeared somewhere 😂

I use a cheap pair of wireless earbuds, and they don't have noise cancellation. But from what I've heard from other people too, it seems like a lot of people feel like they can't live without noise cancellation once they've gotten used to it 🤔

I just really don't like in-ear earbuds, so I've been using open-fit/earbud-style ones forever. I might never get to experience what noise cancellation is like…lmao

For otome CDs, I'd say headphones. They feel more immersive and let you appreciate the voice acting and little audio details better. Earphones are more convenient though, especially if you're listening casually.

Those earphones are really convenient since they have the remote built in too! I used to love mine back in the day. ❤️
And wireless earbuds mysteriously disappearing by the time you wake up will probably remain an eternal problem, haha! 😂

I started wanting noise cancellation because the more crowded buses and trains get, the louder people seem to talk, so I find myself thinking, "I really need noise cancellation!" 😂💦

In-ear earbuds do have that distinctive fit, so I guess they're definitely one of those things that people either love or hate. There seem to be a few noise-cancelling models that use the more traditional earbud style rather than the in-ear type, so if you find one that feels comfortable for you, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try! 😊

I don't think you can really make a simple comparison between headphones and earphones, since they each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The spacious sound you get from headphones is really wonderful, while the convenience and ease of use of earphones is hard to beat. 😊

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! ❤️

I use the Sony WI-C310. The earbuds of Sony WI-C310 are relatively small compared with other and fit well in the ears of Asian women, so I don't experience much ear pain even when wearing them overnight.

I prefer wired earphones! I listen to Otome CDs a lot before going to bed, and headphones are just too uncomfortable when I lie on my side. 😭

Of course, wired earphones can be a little uncomfortable too, but I like that I don't have to worry about the battery running out, so I can listen all night! 😊🎧

I agree with you so much that I could nod my head clean off! 😂😂

Wireless earbuds are great too, but that moment when you're finally ready to use them and realize you forgot to charge them is absolutely devastating, haha! 😂

I usually use wireless earbuds. I often listen to things while doing other stuff, and they're just so convenient and easy to use ☺️

There was a time when I had an ear problem and couldn't wear earbuds because of the pain, so I temporarily used headphones instead. Reading everyone's comments reminded me that the sound quality might actually have been better with headphones… so I think I'll try using them again for the first time in a while!♪

They each have their own pros and cons, so it's really hard to settle on one and say, "This is definitely the best!" 😂

Ahh, I actually had a period when I couldn't wear earphones because I had hurt my ear too, and I used headphones during that time.

Hearing everyone's different opinions really is helpful, isn't it?! 😊🎧

I completely agree!! ❤️ Wired earphones are still really useful, especially since you don't have to worry about charging them, even though wireless ones are so popular nowadays.

I really want a pair with a good seal for that fully immersive feeling, but the cable on a pair of earphones I bought before had such terrible microphonics that I ended up never using them again. 😂

How about the ones you use? Do you get much cable noise when the wire rubs against something?

Maybe it's just my ears, or maybe it's because I always route the cable over my ear, but honestly, cable noise has never really bothered me. I see people complaining about it a lot, so I guess my ears just don't pick up on it.

These kinds of audio accessories can vary so much in both price and quality, so it's honestly really difficult to find something that's a good fit for you.

The earphones I use are the Panasonic RP-HJE150. They're definitely not anything particularly high-end, but they only cost around ¥500, so they're incredibly cheap. 😂 One advantage is that even if I accidentally fall asleep while wearing them and end up damaging the cable, I can easily replace them without feeling too bad about it, haha.

They're also in-ear earphones, so I don't really have to worry about cable noise either. If they're available where you live, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try! 😊🎧

Oh, I love the RP-HJE150 too!
They actually have a pretty pleasantly balanced sound, don't they? I also love that they don't produce much cable noise. Back when phones still had headphone jacks, I used them all the time. I used SpinFit eartips with them.

When I'm at my PC, I use ear-hook earphones. For listening in bed or while doing housework, I reluctantly use wireless earbuds.
Headphones don't really work for me because I don't like the pressure on my head.

I just pick wireless earbuds without overthinking it. Right now I'm using the Anker Soundcore Liberty 5 (I got them on sale), but I'm not very happy with them. 😭 They're pretty heavy, and they fall out of my ears when I'm lying on my back.

For ear-hook earphones, it's the Koss KSC75 all the way. That's my main pair, and I love them so much that I don't even want to listen to otome voice CDs with anything else.
The detail and resolution are just incredible! I also own the WH-1000XM4, but personally, I actually prefer the sound quality of the KSC75. That's just my personal opinion, though.
They do leak quite a bit of sound, though, so beware of anyone behind you!

Cable noise is basically when the sound of the cable rubbing against something gets transmitted through the cable and into your ears. It tends to be more noticeable with in-ear earphones, especially when the cable is relatively stiff.

If you've never really noticed it before, then I guess you've just never ended up with one of those unlucky pairs of earphones that have really bad cable noise. I'm jealous! 😂

Wow, I'm so happy to find someone else who loves them too! 😆❤️ And yes, the sound quality is actually pretty good, isn't it? I also love that they come in so many different colors, and the fact that they're so affordable is another big plus!

I think one of the advantages of ear-hook earphones is that they stay pretty securely in place while you're wearing them, and since they're open-style, they don't put as much pressure inside your ears or cause them to hurt. I used to use them back when I had a MiniDisc Walkman, and I really liked them too!

I don't see them very often in stores these days, so I had assumed they weren't really mainstream anymore and had probably stopped being manufactured. I had no idea there were still ear-hook earphones being made! 😆

I've heard that final makes some good wireless earbuds too. Apparently they have a pair specifically designed for listening to ASMR in bed. I've never tried them myself, so I don't know much about them, but if you're interested, maybe look into them! 😊

Thank you so much for sharing all those details with me. This was really helpful! 🥰🎧
