Does bad music ruin your immersion in Otome games?

Not really, maybe because most of the time I focus on reading the text too much I'm tuning out the music automatically lol. but if it's gets annoying I'll just lower the bgm volume.

No, most of the time the music is really good in some of them that I actually download some of it into my playlist. Unless it's an annoying sound or track the repeats way too much which is rare for me.

I do not mind bad music.
However, when I am able to listen to wonderful music, that game stays in my heart very well.

Not really .. but when a good soundtrack comes along it makes me love the game even more .. I saved all the Cupid parasite songs .. they're bangers lol

sometimes the music can get a bit repetitive for me, especially if it is on the louder side but i feel bad about muting it so i just endure it lol. i probably should get over my habit, might be contributing to me abandoning games

Not really. Music is a huge bonus if it fits the game, but it's easy to be turned off and be customized. SE on the other hand, can get annoying for me because I always want the system SE and story SE be separated, but many games don't do that. In general system SE is noisy and ruins the mood for me.

I don't think the music is the issue for me, it'd say it's rather bad sound design or mad mixing (be it for general ambient sounds that loop weirdly or that of the voices where they all seem to be set at different volumes)

I feel like I don't pay much attention to the music most of the time... but I do notice it when it's really bad. I usually just turn it off.

This mainly applies to R18 games, but I can never take it seriously when they use those rock/grunge tracks on h-scenes. I swear it's always so loud too, so I have to pause to lower the music volume.

A favourite of mine, though, is Sympathy Kiss—despite not thinking the game itself was amazing—because the music made me feel like I was in a drama. AIKOTOBA and BYE MY LIFE / FOUND MY LOVE are songs I constantly listen to, and it was always fun to hear them in the story.

Music doesn't really affect me much, but if the music is good, that's a bonus—because I sometimes like to make my own playlists for the games I play

YES and sound effects. I can't remember what game it was but there was a rain sound that had the pause so noticeably I just turned off the sound 😭

I don't recall otome game that bothered me because of its music , i always fell in love with their music & osts 🫶🏻

Tbh, I usually (majority of the time), have the music on low to listen to the voice acting, but the music (ost or just for ambience) never really ruined it for me.

I always skip the credit songs because most of them are so unbelievably bad! (Looking at 9RIP)

Yes! I really love the music from Amnesia, and Cupid Parasite also has an amazing soundtrack too.

I play some game with good music and bad story, instead of the opposite. So the answer is no

Not really unless there's barely any variety. Like if it's just 1 or 2 tracks looping the whole game that does get to me. But mediocre bgm I can tune out completely, sometimes I finish a game and couldn't even tell you what the ost sounded like lol. If it's genuinely good though I do notice and appreciate it

not really, i usually play with the music kind of low anyways to focus on voice acting, so bad music doesn't really bother me. good music can definitely get me to enjoy a game more though!

For me personally I do enjoy it when the background music is good, cause it really help to create an immersive experience. But often times i find that otome games don't have a lot of different soundtracks which can make it very repetitive and I will just turn off the music completely/
