Do you wish there were more eroge otome?

While I strongly agree, I also have some reservations.
For me, the fun lies in the build-up leading up to the bed scene and the bit of cuddling that follows—and for that level of content, a CERO D rating is sufficient.
With the budget for an R18 otome game, they tend to cut back on other scenes to allocate more runtime to the H scenes, which can make the rest of the content feel a bit shallow.
I thought it might be better to fill in the more explicit parts with otome CDs or otome doujinshi.
That said, I'd still be happy if it were released.

I definitely agree with this thread, we really need more eroge otome games! ^^

It's pretty frustrating how almost every game made for guys automatically has spicy scenes, but for us, we have to dig through old PC titles or indie stuff just to find a drop of spice lol. And it's so annoying when the scenes they do make feel like they're drawn completely for the male gaze... we're here to see the hot guys, not stare at the MC the whole time XD

@mekoneko made a great point about audio though. Since the game market is kind of dry, I usually spend most of my time in the ASMR and Drama CD sections listening to otome voice works. I listen to both the safe and R18 ones //▽// It just feels way better because it's completely focused on the female gaze, and you don't have to deal with awkward art ruining the vibe haha.

Hopefully, some devs will actually start taking risks and give us more high-budget spicy games again. Until then, I'll just stick to my audio clips ^^

Honestly, yes, in my case I really like games with that type of content because the feelings and emotions are more complex, they can deal with darker themes, so to speak, as well as politically incorrect ones, not to mention that I consider the content to be more romantic and focuses more on the relationship of a couple (toxic or healthy), giving more attention and importance to it than most general otome games, which focus a bit more on the story.

I like 18+ otome games, but I also think there's a special flavor to "normal" otome games that have that not-so-explicit spicy scene!

An example of this I would say is Diabolik Lovers and Blackish House Side A (I haven't played Side Z so I can't talk about it yet 😅)

I played knowing there would be some darker themes, but the "spicy" scenes surprised me too. And I really like the moaning/blood-sucking ASMR in Diabolik Lovers.

And I can't wait for Key La Box to come out!

I do and iwould love that! It's a little outrageous that +18 otome games for women are so scarce, overlooked, ridiculed, and judged, while men always get games with +18 content and enjoy them freely, without judgment or lack of content.

I wish more otome games would venture into bolder and more sensual territory, without fear or restraint due to male judgment! But unfortunately, games for men aren't affected by negative opinions like eroge otome games are, so it ends up being difficult for that to happen because the negative opinions...

I know what you mean! If there's enough content that interests me—whether it's the story, characters, or voice actors—I might even give a game a try even if the gameplay isn't usually my thing.

Хмммм... может быть? Только если сюжет не будет основан исключительно на эротических сценах, пожалуйста...

YEAH! There's barely any localised so i play most of them in Japanese or Chinese but i really think that would be soo good to have more since it's a pretty popular type of game (ero-games in general ) but most are male oriented….so i think it would definitely be a plus to the otome genre to have more spicy R18 games !!

Yes, but also I wish there was less "fade to black" scenes. Like if they're gonna get spicy, give us SOMETHING. Otome definitely generally seem to be a lot more chaste than most Male oriented VNs. Feels like these days there aren't enough CGs either as it is.

Absolutely. I wish there were more, but they need to be done right.
As in, they need to fully cater to female sexuality and not male sexuality. The male LIs are the ones who should be erotic in 18+ otome games, not the female MC. Preferably it should be a self-insert kind of heroine.
If you would now pair that with a decent story, pretty art and a good voice cast and I'd definitely play it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure If companies nowadays will ever invest the money into developing a game like that.

there are three whole games that are currently in production actually!!:D
the main problem though is that at least two of them have voiced mcs, which is indeed male-oriented.. but oh well, thats just japanese women being way more relaxed when it comes to female-targeted erotica in both games and manga:"3

I'd enjoy more eroge Otome games but only if the protagonist actually looks like a woman and not a teenager. If the characters look like they should be in jail during the sex scenes I just stop playing. Size difference is fine but there's a line between that and questionable choices...

I really hope there will be more R18 otome games too!
I'm envious of how many different types and how many adult games for men there are.
Given the current situation—where the number of artists capable of drawing for R18 otome games is limited, and they face various challenges compared to mainstream otome games—I suspect that's why they don't come out very often.
I really miss new releases. 😢

I only played Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome, and it didn't really work for me. It felt very male-gaze-y, like the sex was written more for shock or comedy than anything actually romantic. Even the MC's VA was louder than everyone else, which kind of threw me off. I think id be open to it, it just hasn't really been handled in a way that appeals to me yet personally.

Actually, when you consider the target audience and production costs, R18 otome games really aren't worth the investment… That's why there are fewer and fewer commercial R18 otome games these days. Doujin games, on the other hand, have fewer production requirements, so they've been able to develop more freely—but their quality is still a cause for concern… Honestly, my expectations for R18 games aren't that high; I'd even be fine with a story that's just a short skit, because there are so few of them to begin with—let alone commercial-quality ones…

I'd looove for that but like some other answers i'd fear for it to just be rooted in some mysoginistic more masculine way and i wouldn't want it to have R18 content just to be rated that way , i'd rather have a smaller catalogue to choose from but that is mindful rather than plain nsfw that doesn't make sense

I would have loved that. Its unfortunate that there isn't that many anymore and even old titles that were localized (ex.chou no doku), they didn't add the nsfw scenes in like???
