Do you watch the animes of otome games?

My acquaintance with otome began with Hakuoki, I cried so much, I love this anime (and the graphics are great). Then, if I'm not mistaken, I watched seasons 1-2 of Uta no Prince, Amnesia, Heart no Kuni no Alice (film) at that time, I was not very picky and I would have loved to have eaten, but if I had watched them now, I definitely would not have liked it. In principle, I don't like anime based on otome, because the narrative is too fragmented and the animation is not very pleasant. BUT I recently watched Meiji Tokyo Renka, and I surprisingly liked it. I also watched the movie Collar x Malice, despite the terrible animation, I liked the message of the movie, although it's very crumpled, but it's not worth watching who hasn't played the game yet, there's a fat SPOILER.
I liked the OVA, at least I attributed it to the Hanayaka Nari movie, because it lasts for 50 minutes, Waga Ichizoku: Kinetograph, does not contain spoilers, but introduces the characters and helps you understand if this novel is suitable for you. She has a wonderful OP\ED. Haha, it turns out that I watched a lot of things

Sometimes, but i know it would never be like the game but i like that heroine has VA

I still watch them! It was how I satisfied my otome cravings back then when the otome game community was a lot smaller and didn't have many localizations! I had to make do with the subbed anime since I couldn't play the actual game haha

well, my otome game journey started with those animes... so, you could say that.. now i tend to not watch them cause it's usually different from the games, which frustrates me a lot

Yeah I do just because I like seeing/hearing my favorites again. And it's much faster than replaying (even if the adaptions are usually not the greatest)

How I got into otome games was by watching an otome adaptation anime and discovering it had a game

I have watched hakuoki, hiiro no kakera and the la corda series after playing the game.

I liked hakuoki and la corda series but for Hiiro no kakera, i preferred the game instead of the anime unfortunately.

Yes, I've watched some anime based on otome games I haven't played, but I felt like they spoiled the story, so I stopped lol

dandevi, diabolik lovers, hakuoki, amnesia, utapri, juuzaengi, heart no kuni no alice, code realize, nil admirari, norn9 (i love to rewatch this one), collar x malice (never again), kuro to kin no akanai kagi (iykyk), what else... oh hanayaka nari waga ichizoku (this one lowk funny ngl)

yes, i watch them, and i wish they make moooreeeee aaaa

I watch them but generally after playing the game because I play games more and then wonder how is anime ^w^ I watched Dialovers, Amnesia, Utapri, Code realize and Collar x malice.

I think the quality of some of the anime are a bit um.....so I seldom watch the anime version.
I had only watch : dance with devil (also played the game), La Corda d'Oro, Magic-kyun, stand my hero (mobile game)

i watch ALL the romance anime for girls hahah. It's nice to see my favorite otome boys move, even if the art is bad...
I really love Amnesia anime...

I plan to do it one of these days, but the list keeps adding up atp lol
I've remembered watching Hakouki, Diabolik Lovers, Uta no Prince Sama, and Brothers Conflict so far

For beginners, I think anime is a great entry point. I also got into otome games through anime.
Unless it's something like Dance with Devils that was produced as pre-release promotion for a game, I don't really go out of my way to look for them anymore.

Back when I didn't even know otome games existed, I watched DL and Meji Tokyo Renka. (Amnesia Memories and UtaPri too, but only halfway through). At the time, I thought reverse harem anime were awesome, but nowadays I hate them as much as Isekai anime, so I don't think I'd watch one today because, since it doesn't focus on just one route, the protagonist seems bland and the plot becomes a mess. For me, it would be much better if the developers didn't advertised their products in this way. CD dramas are much better in my opinion since you could better present each LI. Maybe I'd give the Hakuoki anime a chance only because the plot itself is very good, and even in the game, romance takes a backseat and the focus is more on the Shinsengumi's story. If the anime leans towards a strong and interesting story instead of a petty attempt to present romance with a shallow MC and a mess of plot itself then I might watch it.

I watch it but usually just kinda dissapointed cuz it's too short. And especially when they just use one route but my fav is not the main couple. Just feels weird

I used to watch a lot of them, but then I started playing otome games and just stopped entirely.

I have watched many otome anime, but most of them only follow a single route, which might feel a bit confusing for those who haven't played the games. Moreover, the adapted route might not even be the favorite one! For example, in the anime Meiji Tokyo Renka, my favorite route is Shunsou's, but the anime adapted Mori Ougai's route instead.

Yes and I wish they could adapt more titles into anime... Imagine a Virche anime, or a Cupipara anime... I would love them! Even though it's impossible to adapt 60hours of gameplay in a 12 episode anime, I still think they would be nice and interesting to watch.

I started watching a few but could never finish them. Is it me or there aren't really that many of the good quality ones??? How can you turn a nice game into something like the Dynamic Chord anime? Wtf!!

Yes, because at first i didnt know it was based on an Otome Game XDDD
But now that i know the otome game community, if i've played the game, i usually give it a chance if the animation is good, if not i just drop it.

I'm a die-hard fan of the source material, so I don't watch anime. Whenever I come across an interesting anime, I start by reading the original work. Still, sometimes when I see beautiful animation, I do feel the urge to watch it.

I remember seeing funny edits of the Diabolik Lovers anime back in 2020 and they were hilarious. They would add kpop songs over certain scenes and put old vine memes over them and that was what got me playing the original games ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ
