tbh i feel like those who didnt like dialov anime are anime only ppl.

the anime doesnt go as much in depth so it's a bit harder to like the guys, and we dont hear yui's thoughts so she looks like she's dumb af, but watching the anime AFTER having played the game is top tier fan service content x)

I'll play the anime after I finish the game.
I avoid spoilers as much as possible because if I watch the anime first, I might lose motivation to grind the game. Plus, the anime and game are quite different, and the anime isn't as well-funded as the game. That's why I prefer playing the game over watching the anime.

I love watching anime very much. From anime, I understand otome games. I used to watch love anime often, but now I play otome games

<DIABOLIKLOVERS>
<NORN9>
<Hakuoki>
<BROTHERS CONFLICT>
<Dance with Devils>
I used to love watching these anime very much, as well as some other animeദ്ദി˶˃ ᵕ ˂ )✧

Back then I watched most of the anime that was tagged as Reverse Harem on MAL, and the majority of them are otoge adaptations~

I prefer being able to at least select the route and see the ending I want, which is why anime of otome games don't really entice me. Part of why I like anime is also for the wow factor at the animation details and skills (of animators), I feel like otome adaptations don't really have that...

Honestly, every time an otome game company announces that one of their titles is getting an anime adaptation,
I feel really down.
It always feels like the anime production team thinks the audience is stupid.
Most of the time, you can tell at a glance—stiff, awkward animation and hollow, poorly planned storytelling.

If they actually had the guts to pick one solid, well-written route and adapt it properly,
The story wouldn't have fallen apart like that.
Every time I see these shoddy, rushed adaptations,
I can't help but wonder: do they really think this level of quality can make money or attract new fans?

Moments like this make me really admire—well, I guess envy in a good way—
gal games for having so many excellent anime adaptations.
FSN and Steins;Gate are classic examples.

Sometimes I watch anime just to see my favorite characters come to life. Because anime plots are usually overly simplified... haha.:cry:

I did try to watch them but most of them are so bad that I gave up. They make it so weird like Brothers Conflict. Where trying to recreate parts of all routes feels detached.
The only one that I could recommend is Arcana Famiglia. They didnt push the "romance/route" parts and made it work out seamlessly. You can literally watch it and you wouldn't know it was based on otome game.

Have watched some and enjoyed seeing them in animated form:)

I would recommend

* Kin'iro no Corda primo passo (secondo passo if you're interested in a short continuation or BlueSky!)
* Koisuru Tenshi Angelique (I think this should be fine as I have not played the game yet)
* Harukanaru Toki no Naka de Hachiyoushou
* Hanayaka nari Waga Ichizoku (OVA)

Other Angelique and Haruka series have some animated OVAs - though the story didn't gel as well as the game (nice to watch it animated😄)

I watched DIARBOLIK LOVERS, but I don't think I expressed the story of the game well..

I used to watch a lot, i mean, almost every otome games adaptation anime a few years ago :"D but i stopped around before the covid hit, because i didnt watch anime anymore and basically just got no time sadly.. BUT my all time favorite is UTAPRI! love the first and second season :love: i even memorize the OP and ED still getting giddy with the song, i woud sing a long like it was a concert, so much memoryy. and i dont know why but to me, Brocon anime adaptation is good(??) like, they have so much characters but can give them bits of scene, even just a little haha, but cute.

And personally, i dont really enjoy Hiiro no Kakera, not because the anime is bad, but because when otome anime usually focused on no-one route, HnK is focused on the main boy.. and i prefer the other guy :cry: and it hurts me seeing the MC not being with my fav, eventhough i love the song so much (Fujita Maiko is goddess i swear) but the anime is good, just personal preference :giggle:

And ofc the legend Hakuoki series, no words can describe my love for that game.. and watching the anime just making me bawling my eyes T.T so good yet so painful to watch..

Amnesia is nice too! Arcana Famiglia is also cute, makes me want to play the game at that time <3

i really love to self-insert when playing the games but when it comes to the animes i feel like the mc becomes an actual character on their own and a really different from me so it makes it harder to enjoy the anime the way i enjoy otomes, so i tend to evade them

No, almost never. I prefer to see how different kind of choices lead to different kind of endings. But I do think that anime adaptations are a good way for people to get the general vibe of a franchise before deciding if they want to play the game it is based on or not.

Tried to watch the anime for Hakuouki and Amnesia after playing because I was desperate for more content (post-game depression lol) and couldn't get into it. I watch Prince of Stride though and since it was never localised I quite enjoyed it...so I guess the difference for me is which media type I consumed first...

This is also happens outside of otome (book vs film adaptations), (anime vs manga), I generally like whatever I saw first

I watch excellent anime, such as "Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan". I absolutely adore this series, and it was actually what drew me to the game. In short, I watch otome anime. If the anime is truly outstanding, it can positively influence the game. However, some anime aren't particularly engaging, and in those cases, the game itself is more enjoyable.

I've watched Amnesia and Hakuoki.
Amnesia was okayish. I just wanted to protect the MC from everyone. She sounded so innocent and cute.
Hakuoki was good but it made me really sad when my favorite character had to suffer.

Before I knew what otome games were, I unknowingly watched tons of otome animes. If I remember correctly, my first three were Prince of Stride, Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys, and Hakuouki ( I remember seeing a fanmade music edit of it and wanted to watch it). I think watching the anime first made me more biased towards certain LIs, likeeee Hijikata will always be number one for me 😂. My only gripe is that, since it's an anime, the MC either doesn't end up with anyone or ends up with the LI I didn't like 😤.

I tend to play the games instead watching the anime versons because mc either doesnt get with any of the LI or one I don't really care for. Which is why I love otomes in the first place being able to choose who the mc ends up with is a ton of fun!!

For otome games that i will never play because they are only in japanese i watch the anime, but otherwise i would play the game rather

I will watch every opening anime when I play that otome game at the first time, but will only repeat to watch those opening animes which I like.

Utapuri watched the anime and then played the game. I like both the game and the anime, each with their own charm, but what I find most appealing about the anime is the way the characters move.

No I don't. If I want something in the otome genre I will just play games, if I decide to watch anime I would rather watch other types of anime because they have better production. But I will listen to any OSTs I like separately, they can be enjoyed without watching.

I rarely watch it myself, but I'm really glad my friends who don't play otome games are totally down to check out the anime based on my recommendation!:oops:
