Do you use a guide or go in blind when playing otome games?

For the first route I always go in blind. I like seeing what "my choices" would lead me to.
After the first ending I usually use a guide though. Gotta get all the endings after all.

I usually go blind in the first run but will check the guide if it asks questionable choices like "go left" or "go right" (like, for real?)

it actually depends on the game im playing but in terms of vns mostly yes

i usually first look at the reviews and see how the mechanics work. if the mechanincs are too much hassle for my taste (which happens too many times bc when i play vns i usually play it bc i want to have a casual gameplay) i follow the guide.

if they have a reccomended route order i also follow that bc i want to exprience the story in the cleanest way possible

i ve seen a lot of disscussions abt this topic online which struck me as surprising bc there was a lot of people who said that "ur not playing the game correctly if u follow a guide esp for vns and stuff" which i do agree to some point but i think its kinda pointless.

it doesnt matter if the cake still tastes like cake no matter what toppings u put on or how u make the cake. its still gonna taste like a cake!

I normally use a guide because I like to go in a set order of endings, in addition to an anxiety factor regarding this. But, sometimes, i like to feel the rush of going blind in the game.

Something more thrilling with blind gameplay. And beside that, i dont really into spoiler, so i will see a guide if i cant get good ending.

Usually, the first one goes blind, but then I always go for a guide to get my 100% Some otomo games are really huge to dig every choice yourself

Honestly, I played blind once a long time ago, and I regretted it. I got one of the bad endings, and it was so awful that I've used guides ever since
Same! I don't really like bad ending and i tend to avoid it if i can. one time, i was soo confident i can do it without a guide, i keep getting the bad ending. even when i try to think and use my brain, analyzing the option etc, i'll still get a bad ending 🤨 since then, i stick to using a guide. unless the option was obvious or they have the love meter. otherwise, guide is my only way, i was just that bad at playing blindly lol. im glad life is not a vn or i would ended up in a bad ending because of the choices i make.

It depends. For example, if I'm really immersed in a story, I'll not use guide as I'll try to find every ending on my own. But, If I feel like, I'm not that immersed or connected, or if I don't like some particular characters and don't wanna end up in their routes, then I'll definitely use guide to reduce time.

If it's newly released otome game, there probably won't be a guide yet, so I'll play it onmy own. But if it's a been out for a while, I'l play with a guide open.

At first, I play through the game without looking at any guides.
After completing two or three routes, I start checking walkthrough sites to see the endings I haven't unlocked yet.

I use a guide, otherwise I'd get stuck in a loop. I hate missing CGs or bad ends, so I'll at least check a spoiler-free route order first.

Ever since I started using guides, I just can't help myself and keep using them. I can never go back to playing blind anymore. I've completely turned into a completionist player.🥹

I play blind on my first playthrough to experience the game my way. Usually, I end up with a bad ending 😅 Then I check a walkthrough.

I used to play blindly without following a guide, at least for my first run, because I wanted to see what would naturally happen based on what I thought were the choices that made sense. But now, I rely on a walkthrough more for the sake of efficiency, especially because I don't have as much time to fumble around for the different endings and I'll see everything anyway regardless of the order.

I usually try to play without a guide first. But if I accidentally get onto the route of an LI I'm not ready to play yet, I'll use a guide. :)

It depends on how punishing the game is, if I'm going to get death endings on every corner or it will block the LI that I want, then I use guides all the time. If not, I play the 1st time blind.

Blind for the first time playing each routes then I'll decide based on whether I can manage to find the way to collect all CGs/endings, if I can, then I won't use a guide. With stat management games, I try to find tips/advices instead of a guide tells me what to do (but well, most otoge are choice based).

Because of this habit I have to rage quit a game when I realized its ending condition state in-game is lacking, so I can't get the ending I want, it's a localization game, so I don't know if it's localization error, or the original game description problem, neverthelesss, I won't come back to play it soon since it irritates me so much when rmb.
