It depends on the game tbh. Unfortunately I don't have that much free time anymore (or patience ^^'), so guides make my life a lot easier when I'm trying to gest the best possible ending

I usually do a blind run on the first playthrough and try to figure things out on my own.
But if I can't get my preferred ending, then I'll use a guide.

I will definitely read the guide, because I often can't get a good ending without it. Also, I don't want to waste time constantly saving and loading. Lazy players absolutely must read the guide.

I always use guides too. These days I don't have as much free time as I used to, so I'd rather spend my time reading the story than replaying sections because I picked the wrong choices.
I also like experiencing the routes in the recommended order, especially in games where certain routes contain major plot reveals or spoilers. Using a guide helps me get the intended experience and makes it easier to focus on the story itself.
That said, when I was younger, I used to play without guides sometimes and just pick whatever answers felt right. It could be fun, but it was also frustrating when I ended up on a bad ending after hours of reading

I like using guides! Firstly because there's usually recommended route orders, and secondly because I'm so slow when playing games . If I didn't use a guide I would never finish.
