Do you prioritize playing newly released otome/bl games?

Ah, that is such a vexing problem. I usually pre-order games, so I know the release date and start playing the moment I unwrap them on launch day. However, if my schedule is packed and I leave a game sitting there, the next release date—and then the one after that—rolls around, causing a backlog of unplayed titles to pile up. These games inevitably get pushed to the back of the line; even though I bought them because I wanted to play them right away, I just can't help but jump on the newest releases—so, with a silent apology to the older ones, I end up playing the new games instead.

It also depends on my mood, but if it's a game I've been looking forward to for a long time, or a new release that's exactly my type, I'd probably end up playing it anyway, even if it meant putting the other games I'm currently playing on hold.

I try not to because I know if I do, I'll never get through my very huge backlog lol. But there are exceptions, like if it's a game I've been really looking forward to and have been waiting forever to play or I want to join in on the hype because lots of people are playing and loving it. There are also times I try really hard to focus on my backlog, but I get curious/tempted and fail haha so I guess it really depends on the game.

I wait for sales before I get any recent otome game so I guess you could say I prioritize my backlog 😆 My backlog is very small though so if anything, if there's a newer game that I REALLY want to play, I'll just put the older ones I'm playing on hold and get back to them afterwards. (If I remember too...)

Depends on the mood, but unless I really like the premise, I usually wait a little. Otome games these days tend to miss more than they hit, so I try to read reviews before getting new releases. If it does sound good, high chance I would play it right away. My backlog isn't that big since I'm picky and can always be pushed back.
