Do you prioritize playing newly released otome/bl games?

There have been quite a few new games coming out lately, like Sins of Kaleido and Crazy Chain. Do you usually prioritize new releases or do you prefer catching up on games you already have but haven't gotten around to yet?
Personally, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes I get really excited about a new release and want to jump into it right away, but other times I'd rather finally pick up something that's been sitting in my backlog forever.
What about you?:coffee:

I tend to prioritize my backlog more. There are so many games I've bought and never gotten around to finishing that I feel a bit guilty jumping straight into every new release. That said, if a new game has a premise or character that really grabs me, I'll make an exception and play it right away.

I've never really kept up with new releases tbh.
The only times I've been really hyped for a release was when Hakuoki SSL was finally getting localised & when Cheritz announced The Ssum after the success of Mystic Messenger (which ended up going horribly wrong).

I actually prefer delving through VNDB and threads on here to find old otome games I missed out on (PS2 era games are my fave).
But yeah, other than that I'm mostly focused on working through my insane backlog.

I usually play the new ones, because I don't have a backlog. I want to play what everyone on Twitter is talking about ... But I think it's semi-rare to not bother with a backlog in the otome space, so I get why some people dont

I've been starting a lot of new games lately but dropping them halfway, so recently I've been forcing myself to finish one before starting another. But man, when a game comes out that perfectly hits my taste, I end up playing it anyway, lol.(Sorry if this sounds weird, English isn't my first language so I used a translator!)

As much as I'd like to always be caught up with the latest releases and be able to talk about them freely while the community hype is at its peak, I usually don't read visual novels right at release. I get burnout easily and have trouble focusing on things if I'm not in the mood for them so if I manage to get through any visual novel in my backlog, it's a win for me no matter how long it took.

i like to finish one game before going to something else, whether it be backlog or something new. i tend to prioritize what story im more into more rather than if its new or not. but unless i take the time to finish the game im on rn then i might have to break this little rule of mine when over requiemz comes out. im super excited for it and wanna jump right into it once i get it :D

I don't really prioritize playing newly released games, but I do like to keep up with them and any news about them (promo CGs 🤤). I'm in no real hurry to play anything, though, and my excitement usually dies down when I order new games, unless there's no physical release option, since I have to wait over a month for them to arrive anyway. I prefer catching up with older releases that are sitting in my backlog.

My thoughts are the same as yours, depending on my mood and environment. The newly released game is enough to attract me, and I will be eager to play it when it is first released. I usually choose to play games that interest me during my leisure time. I play whatever game I think of, haha:ROFLMAO::coffee:
